Most dearest thing to them -- Her cacti. Maaki has many potted cacti plants, most of which she's had for a very long time.
Maaki used to struggle with depression. Maaki would rather not mention why. Maaki tried everything. Then, Maaki bought her first cactus.
Maaki wasn't sure what to think at first. She thought she would just take care of the plant for a little.
Maaki got more invested. She found comfort in taking care of the cactus and tending to it's well-being.
Maaki received more cacti. Because of her dedication, she was able to keep them all alive.
Maaki's depression slowly started to fade away. Taking care of her cacti helped her overcome the weight from her past.
And that is why her cacti are most precious to her. Without them, she wouldn't know where she would be.

Serenity is most definitely a Kalon that loves the story behind an item more than how unique it actually is.
Her most precious item is actually a rusted lock box- hand decorated and painted, though the quality is obviously not stellar, she does love the story behind it; and any other random items she cherishes are put neatly inside.

She likes to hide things from others- and more often herself- but this box is the only exception, as no matter where she put it, she always knew where it was.
Her mother dubbed it 'magic' because of this, which Serenity took to heart and declared it her favorite item. Every show-and-tell she would bring her little painted "magic" box, despite the claims of others who said it wasn't magic. She would glow when they couldn't prove it wasn't, and proceeded to love it more and more as days, weeks, and months passed.

Even when the time came where she left the magic of her younger years, she still keeps that box close, as it always had meant so much to her.
