"ATTACK!" Aberdeen calls, and about half the group continues their onslaught. They pester the tendrils that crush the ship in its grasp, tossing whatever materials they had left on The C.S. Link. One by one, the massive creature below slams its limbs into the deck and send the keldines flying. Astaroth ducks under a blow that instead crashes into Stef, sending her far out to sea. Another manages to grap Chandler, who put up an impressive fight and clawed at the deck as he was dragged away, leaving marks into the wood as his final statement to the world. Asteria had grown tired before from fighting against one kelbean, closing her eyes as a tentacle flies in her direction and sends her off.
Aberdeen looks to Astaroth, her ears flattening against her head.
"Was this a mistake?"
Astaroth is provided no time to answer as a tendril snakes around her back legs and drags her away, and he races to the side of the ship after her in a futile attempt to help. She hits the water before he even reaches the edge, and his legs grow shaky. He stubmles back and away, looking out at the remaining keldines-- only four?
Yeen, Azrael, and Julian? Himself among these cowards?
He sinks to his belly, slumping against the deck and breathless, scared. It goes quiet across the crumpling deck, and only the terrified sobs of Yeen and Julian are the liveliest sounds among what was left of the crew.
The quiet lasts a few minutes by time Astaroth notices that the tendrils seem to have come to a stop, simply holding the ship in place. He lifts his head to survey the scene, then hears scrabbling on the side of the ship behind him.
Three sets of blank, beady eyes peer out across the deck at the collapsed keldines, and the little sirens from before come scrambling into the ship to get a better look. Astaroth slowly creeps to his paws to get on the defensive, but watches as the kelbeans look between themselves and the two crying- Julian and Yeen. They make mocking sounds that break off into harmonies, and they laugh at each other before doing it again. The green one from before- now with a small bruise under its right eye, gives a loud chirp, looking toward the tendrils that squeezed the ship, and chirps some more.
Whatever it had said, the massive beast of the depths seems to oblige, slowly releasing the ship. As the tendrils sink back into the water, Astaroth turns and finds an even larger head suddenly submerge in their place and peer out at the boat. Its face alone was about five times the size of Astaroth's entire being, and realizing how small he was to this beast sent chills down his spine.
