Mottledbird doesn't handle stressful situations. She breaks down, freaking out over what could be a large problem or an incredibly small one. She will cry and claims the world is ending, even if it is something as simple as a weird plant growing in the forest. However, a day or two after the breakdown she will feel guilty and constantly apologize about her actions. She hates acting like this but can't help it.

— wolverineclan life tends to get stressful, especially in heavy-snow (leaf-bare in common terms). spottedflame May be a fully grown cat, an exceptional sleet at that, but when the stress gets to be too much she acts a little weird. she plays like a kit, jumping after tails and snowflakes alike. she wasn’t allowed to play much as a kit, her mother was too harsh on her, so the need for fun still exists in her heart. she especially likes to listen to elders stories, as her mother never allowed her to as she thought they would “rot her brain”. many cats frown at her kit-like nature, but she doesn’t let it get to her.

Prompt: “Moonwhisker, no!” Sunsong screamed as her mate was pulled under the water by a huge wave. It had come out of nowhere and there hadn’t been time for the Tideguards to warn the clan of the approaching danger. Her dear, sweet Moonwhisker had been neck deep in the water, reciting her morning prayer to Luna, and gotten swiftly dragged into the wave’s undertow. By the time she washed back up on shore, she had already passed away.


Although Moonwhisker had died in the ocean, the holy place of her goddess and a death she would have wanted, that didn’t stop Sunsong’s heart from breaking. Her world was gone. How did one go one when what they loved most had been taken from them? She didn’t know, and wasn’t even sure if such an answer actually existed.

Her salvation was found in the most unlikely of places. During her morning prayers, she stumbled upon an unusual sight. A baby bird, fallen from their nest. Most cats would have killed it, easy food for the clan after all. But not Sunsong. Moonwhisker had loved the birds and would have been sad to see a baby killed in cold blood, especially when it wouldn’t be worth much as prey. So she gently grabbed that baby in her jaws and ran them back up the tree and into the nest, feeling slightly lighter hearted.

Many moons later and the bird was still there, alive and well. It was adult now but had never forgotten Sunsong’s kind deed, and every morning it would sing brightly when she walked past. This became a huge comfort for her and she eventually came to terms with the loss of her mate and learned to enjoy life again. Especially the bird calls she hears every morning. They help her to remember that whenever things are looking grim and hopeless or her world feels like it’s falling down, she just needs to head for the tree and listen to the song of her little bird, and everything will be alright again.
