first thing you'd spot was you walked into the closed off area was ripsaw, working on the ride. pulling out screws and wires with his teeth and claws, muttering something under his breath. you'd sit back as he worked for a moment, he'd swap between messing with ride parts and checking if anything was working. after a moment of him messing around, he seemed to get some power to the ride at last. you'd seem him grin as the bright array of lights would shine. you'd see his grin instantly vanish as he realised that was all that was working. the gondola still stood still. he'd turn the ride back off and leave where he was working. noting something down an a piece of paper before he left.

i've decided to...

seeing the ride working, even if just a little bit, made lime extremely happy. not only was he happy that others can enjoy it (hopefully) soon, but it also meant that he was one step closer to getting out of pretending to be an engineer. he approached the pendulum, peeking at the control panel. maybe he could try to do something to help? but, he didn’t want to break something and have ripsaw be mad at him. ‘maybe i could try working on the gondola?’ he thought, figuring that’d be the best plan of action.

noticing a tool box near the panel, lime took out whatever he could recognize and started tinkering with a section of machinery that he didn’t see ripsaw touch. hopefully he wasn’t doing anything harmful - even so, he could just say he was trying to help, which was the truth. still, though, he wasn’t sure how ripsaw would react. ‘oh well. let’s hope i can do anything at least somewhat beneficial!’ [166 words]

Jason is glad to see something's working on the ride now, even if it's just a small set of lights. He walked over to look at Ripsaw's notes, wondering if there would be something useful on them. On the papers were a bunch of things that the other Chicoon had tried, with notes on what had worked, what hadn't worked, and to what extent successful things were. Interesting... It seemed like there wasn't much to be gained from just whacking the things and hoping that that would make them work again. Who would've thought? Attempting to rewire things seemed to be resulting in mixed amounts of success, though notably it seemed more effective than other methods of fixing things. Jason made a note of this; he'd have to try that more often then. There was also a lot of notes about things suddenly being full of various liquids, from strange ooze, to water, to soda. Near this, there were notes on the recommended ways to deal with the damage caused by each substance.

Jason stacked the papers up and moved them to a better place. The place was now out of the way, yet easy enough to be found again. He didn't want Ripsaw's notes to be destroyed or lost when the Chicoon had been working so hard on them. With that out of the way, he walked over to a newly broken ride. He'd check the control panel first. The wires in that might be an easy fix to get at least something on the ride back in working order. As he want to open the panel, he realized that he forgot to grab the toolbox from the shed. He growled at himself and stomped off to retrieve them. It wasn't far and didn't take long, but it still annoyed him that he had to interrupt his flow. Upon opening the shed, though, Jason found that the entire thing was a huge mess! He growled, even more annoyed at the situation now.

Well, he didn't really have anything better to do so... Jason figured that he might as well clean the shed up. Give Ripsaw and the others a more of a break. The workers keeping this place running had way too much on their plate. He surveyed the scene; many of the tools that had been hanging on the walls were scattered around on the floor. Paint was spilled all over the floor, and the once-neat pile of paint cans had been toppled. Power cords and rope were in tangled messes all over the place. Jason decided that he would start with the tools. He carefully made his way around the shed, avoiding the puddles of paint and cords, as he picked the scattered tools up and place them back in their proper places. Next on his list were the cords and rope. He sat down next to a snarl of ropes, picking the thing up and slowly working his way through unraveling the thing. With that one done, he repeated the process with two other small tangles. The last of the cord tangles was an absolute beast of a thing. It took a frustrating amount of time to get it untangled. All that done, he wound the cords and ropes up in a way that would prevent them from getting tangled and set them back on one of the shelves in the shed.

Finally, it was time to deal with the paint. It seemed to be very slow drying, so the majority of the stuff was still wet. Jason felt lucky about this, because all he'd need to do was wipe most of it up. He left the shed for a few minutes to track down a couple rolls of paper towels. Upon return, he was relieved to find that everything was as it had been when he'd left. It wasn't hard work, wiping all the paint up, but it was annoying given that a lot of it got in the fur around his hand. That'd be a pain in the tail to wash off later. Nonetheless, Jason disposed of the paint-soaked towels and returned to the shed to stack the cans back up. Everything there done, he stepped out of the shed and found that much more time had passed than he'd expected. He needed to get a move on now, and that meant that, unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to try to fix the ride as he'd originally intended. Jason thought that that was extremely unfortunate, especially since it meant that Ripsaw or one of the other Chicoons would have to fix it themselves. That was how things would shake out sometimes, though. At least they wouldn't have to do that in addition to cleaning up the tool shed, though. For now, though, it was time for Jason to go find himself something to eat.

Clean up the ride, clean and shiny rides are the best ones to ride and look at afterall!

Seeing the ride spring to life with just the tiniest bit of power made Korbl smile, maybe there was hope in getting it fixed after all! He didn't want to mess up any of Ripsaw's work...so he stayed sitting for a while as he tried to think of something he could do to help out... "AHAH! I know!" He honked as he leaped up, running off towards the small shed. While inside he grabbed some cleaning supplies and a tattered towel he assumed was for cleaning before trotting back out towards the ride. "I think cleaning the ride up would be good to do! I mean, if we are gonna get it up and running, it needs to look nice and shiny!" He smiles as his head wings flap gently, now the question of where to start...he decides to start on the gondola, as that didn't seem to be part of the ride that was focused on fixing.

After he managed to climb his way into the long ride, he started to clean the seats, handle bars, and inside of the gondola. He'd spray some cleaner, let it soak in for a few moments and then wipe it away with the towel. He repeated this for the entire ride! It sure was a lot of hard work, by the time he had finished, he sat down exhausted in one of the rides' seats. Once he caught his breath and felt like he had enough energy to at least get off of the ride, he carefully climbed down the way he went up and took a look at the ride from where he now stood on the ground. A big smile growing on his face.

"Well now that looks much better, very shiny!" He honked happily, after admiring his hard work for a while longer, he returns the cleaning supplies and towel back to the shed before heading home for the night...he hadn't realized it had taken him the whole day to clean, then again, it was a very big ride!
Either way...Korbl was happy with that progress he made today, and looked forward to returning tomorrow to see what new progress might be made...he had high hopes that they were so close to fixing this ride!

Moxie was curious, and decided to have a tweak at the ride, will he be able to find whatever else is broken? He isn't sure. But he's willing to try and assist Ripsaw in whichever way he can. An assistant as you may call him that.

Onyx is back again at the carnival at the broken down ride. He's a bit more secretive with his presence this time so he didn't feel so guilty for being there. He was hesitant to look at Ripsaw's note, trying to look away from the ride and not look suspicious; but he was sure at this point that his presence was quite well known around here now. He tried to distract himself, he'd feel bad to snoop while Ripsaw was away; but the curiosity was killing him. He felt like he needed to know or else his brain couldn't rest.

He snuck past and walked up to the little note. He could barely read Ripsaw's handwriting. Eventually the words popped out at him, 'Gondola isn't moving. Mechanical issue.' "Gondola?" Onyx muttered to himself. He honestly had not one clue what it was, but from inference he assumed it was the cart; he wasn't sure what other moving parts were on the ride except for whatever helped the cars move up slopes. If the car isn't moving, maybe the wheels and gears should be checked first?

Onyx hopped down and tried to push the car himself; it was honestly very heavy and he wasn't the strongest chicoon. A squeak escaped from his mouth as he tried his very hardest to push the car along and to test the gears and wheels. It did give and Onyx was able to push it as well as he could. If it moved, then maybe it wasn't a wheel or gear problem with the car. The next thing he would need to do is check the chains and the mechanisms that pull the car.

Onyx moved the car forward by pushing it as hard as he could. He was beginning to break a sweat again doing this, but it was worth it in the end. The car moved slowly before unveiling the chains and mechanisms underneath. He hesitated before getting down on all fours to take a look at it, examining the wheels and gears with his eyes before getting into it with his paws. Everything felt rough and cold to him, he couldn't tell what was broken by touch and seeing the problem was hard.

He squinted hard into the chains and wheels, and noticed that some of the mechanisms were rusted and didn't look... normal? Something about the way they looked screamed broken, even if Onyx didn't know exactly what it was. Nothing inside of this mechanism was fluffy or furry, thankfully. Onyx felt no need to stop right now.

He continued to feel around the mechanism that looked off to him. He tried to yank it into place as much as he could, but it couldn't seem to click with just his hands. Tools. Onyx needed tools. He hopped down off of the ride and scurried around in search of items to help him with his effort. He found a somewhat heavy toolbox and tried dragging it back over to the ride, heaving it up the platform into the ride. He opened the box and pulled out a big wrench and screwdriver.

Onyx tinkered with the gears and chains until it popped into place and everything looked alright. He was excited as soon as this happened and rushed to turn the ride on. To no surprise though, the ride was still down; there was still more to be fixed.
