The trio giggled with delight as they set sail on their grand pirate adventure. Amy, the resident farm caretaker, had outdone herself - the pirate vessel was a masterpiece, complete with a fuzzy teddy bear figurehead and piles of kibble "treasure" ready to be plundered. The lush green grass became a vast, mysterious ocean, teeming with vibrant "fish" of all shapes and sizes. Scattered amongst the waves, a fearsome tin "shark" lay in wait, ready to pounce on any unsuspecting pirates.

Anchor, always took on the role of the captain, and he always stood tall at the helm, his wooden sword which hung from his side, gleamed in the sun. Beside him, stood Scuttle and sometimes took on the role of first mate. He scanned the horizon with a keen eye, searching for any sign of the dreaded tin can "shark" that lurked in the deep grassy seas. And little Mizzen, who wasn’t always the bravest took on the role of a swashbuckler. Happy to always man the rigging or sweep the deck, was happy to gravitate away from the battles.

The setting? Taisho era Japan. The universe? Kimetsu no Yaiba. The characters? The main trio, of course; Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inoske. These three pups are obsessed with this show they watch with their owners. They love that there are three main characters, just like them! Even though all three are male and one of the siblings is female, she doesn't mind! She's happy she gets to pretend to be her favourite: the dim-witted Inoske.
They play out their favourite episodes, carrying sticks as their nichirin swords. Sometimes one of them will rope another dog into the game to be one of the Hashira, or a fearsome demon for them to defeat! They pretend the lake out back is a hot spring where they can rejuvenate after their long, tiresome training and battles. When they see crows, they pretend they're the Kasugai crows bringing them news of their newest adventures.
They spend most of their days in this headspace, so when people call them by their real names it doesn't even register. The older collies say they'll grow out of it, but fat chance!
