A very common species, the pennata draco, or feathered dragon, are known for their vibrant plumage and great stature. It is said that the more stripes on the tail of a feathered dragon can tell whether or not the dragon is in tune with arcane magic. Featherless breeds of feathered dragon exist, though they are less common. Feathered dragons can be found much shorter than average, thusly named munchkin dragons.

They would probably live deep within the forest, although they might sometimes come to the edge and play with Monotone, another Draco who is known to be mischievous. The two are known to get into trouble, especially when they are together. The exact area they would live in would be dark and shady, perfect place to hide within from predators and a perfect place to catch food.
