I can understand how you might think that -- I've even seen it happen on some RP sites I used to be on -- but that doesn't happen with Plumerians. Everyone -- staff of Plumerians, staff of CS, average members of the community -- has an equal chance at a tryout! Don't worry about who's entering -- just try your best at making your form.

Why should you be a mod?: I've been involved with several adoption centers in the past, (including jellybean dragons, jewel mane dragons, etc.) I've witnessed proper and improper usage of authority, and I can confidently say in the predicament in which will require me to carry out my authority, I will and have handle the situation with understanding, reason and responsibility.

I'm currently managing my own adoptable species, Jingles, which fortunately doesn't have the need for moderators. I've handled previous misunderstandings/questions with no trouble. :)

On average I have an availability time of 2-6 hours on weekdays, and 12 hours weekends. Typically I spend 2-4 hours on chickensmoothie.com daily.

I'm sorry you're upset, myself along with many others can relate to the disappointment in losing a competition. Your form wasn't a waste, it was experience, and proof of your dedication to this species. If you suspect bias judging, please take your suspicions and any sort of proof, or evidence that would lead you to your conclusions and privately message charchar2 to avoid misunderstandings, and any further conflict.

Please do not insinuate and or judge a users efforts, and rewards. If the judge(s) suspect said user is incapable or undeserving of this plumerian they wouldn't have chosen her/his form. ;v;;

fyi, I wouldn't give any strikes/warnings on these hypothetical cases above. (with the acceptations of outbursts, depending on the situation) In my matter of opinion, unless the offense is big enough, it depends on the number of offenses. Because honestly, or at least in my experience, the user is just ignorant of the rules. Which is technically, a fault on their account, due to neglecting to read/re-read the regulations.

But to put it simply, I don't see the point in punishing someone who doesn't know any better, and who wouldn't try to do a second attempt after being informed. qvq just sort of my way of looking at it.

Past experience; I don't have any past experience here on the site, but I am currently a moderator on a adoption called Ancient Timberlock Adopts and Keviarris Adopts (links in signature). I was also a moderator on a couple chatsites in the past (no longer on the, so can't provide links. sorry!). I was normally a high rank (the ranks where Helper, Gamma, Beta, and Alpha), and I served them for about a year before I had to quit. I also used to be a moderator on a site called Webearthonline. I was a moderator there for about 5 months before I soon retired due to inactivity.

Time online; I'm usually on every day for about 9 hours. That depends, whoever, considering my brother has baseball throughout the week and on the weekends. I obviously can't be on at those times Cx
I usually stalk check the fanclub and regular thread often. During the school year (which won't start until August), I will try and be on as much as I can, but with all the homework and studying, I won't be on some nights. Typically I will be in for 3-5 hours after school days or on weekends.

Other; Thank you so much for this opportunity! It was very kind of you to do this, and I would like to make an oath to show you that I care about the species (and you). I promise I will try and be active as much as I can, and I will treat everyone with respect. I won't abuse my powers, and I will try my best to give my all to the Plumerian Community.

Please always keep in mind that Plumerians are not a biased species, and the judges pick people who they think will take care of them.

Why should you be a mod?:

Well to be honest i have no past experience with being a mod, i guess you could say that im a bit newer :3
But i am online like 24-7, mostly drawing or on other sites typing but checking in every now and then. I don't have much to do expert for life, but seriously on a normal bases im on every day for most of my afternoon. Ha, ha, my style ha? well im a bit of a peoples person, i like to talk with others. i guess if there was a problem i would handle it, im not one for letting people get away with things, i have siblings
to be clear and honest, im not sure if i'd do well. i'd be on the thread a lot more often, checking, scanning, but i also have a comic im working which might take away some of my attention for the page. i think i'd do fairly for a first timer, and you could always fire me if im doing a bad job
I never really thought about being a mod before today, but im going to stride for it. A few key perks to having me around would be; im honest; if I have a problem im not sure about i won't be afraid to ask another mod or you and be completely straight with you. Im loyal; I won't take any other mod or artist jobs to take up to much of my time, and i'll always be thinking about the rules more than opinions. Im quick witted; if there's a problem others can come to me and i will do my best to help, no matter the problem. Im on often; you won't have to wonder if i take off on VK (i would tell you) or if im ever going to be on to do my job. Im Trustworthy; i never do anything that in anyway could backfire or get me/others in trouble.

Why should you be a mod?: Though i don't have any experience i feel that will help me as it will make me work harder to show that i deserve this. i have never tried out to be a mod as i'm a very shy person and species never interest me really. but may it be the feathers or how friendly the community is. I really have formed a longing for this community and hope to help it out even more and become part of the staff!
I'm on very often especially since its Summer (Yay!). Though I do share this computer with 4 sisters, I'm the one on the most and they don't go on much anymore. I also don't have any ties to anything else on CS as of right now, so I would spend even more time with the species, which is what I really only do now. I would also make sure that I read all of the fanclub posts and watch other Plums, that I don't try out for, to make sure nothing spammy is going on anywhere.
My style... well i'm not sure yet as I haven't been one before and i feel I'm very excited for that! But I know for sure that I would be very kind, as I don't think i have a mean bone in my body..well maybe one but shh don't tell. I also love to make people smile so i don't know if its an honest mistake I may try and get the person to laugh (not that I'm good at it though) But I would hate for the person to feel that everyone now dislikes him/her because they accidentally did something wrong, so I always try to make sure i don't come down to hard, unless its a serious matter.
I feel Id do really well at this, as I'm kind of a rule follower, as you can see. I've answered all your suggestions you put and even put them in paragraphs..ugh I need to change my habits. But overall i really hope you consider my form as I tried on it and am scared, i'm shivering right now hoping I filled it out right, but oh well, you live and learn. (wait that shouldn't be their, or probably anywhere on this form but oh well I'm leaving it thanks again!)

Why should you be a mod?:

•I used to be a moderator for Makoatls, and the species was fairly large and active. I was a moderator for many months before the species finally broke off the CS oekaki adoptable board to become a larger DA group.
•I used to run the species Velynns all on my own, and handled it perfectly well.
•I currently run Vindicos as well; all 3 of these show that I have plenty of experience.
•I spend an insane amount of time online/on CS. I'm online for at LEAST 6-8 hours per day, normally more. Even when I'm not on a computer, I have my phone with me and can access all of CS and do absolutely anything needed.
•I am a very calm, very unbiased moderator. Any real emotion of my own is completely removed from the actual drama itself; if I do have any emotion to express on the topic, I'll usually just let it out through a bit of chatter with a friend who isn't part of the CS or Plumerian community. All moderating is done through polite PMs explaining what rule was broken, what to do next time, etc. I really cannot stand to be purposely hurtful to anyone, but that doesn't mean I can't be as strict as needed.
•I'd do well due to the fact that I have moderated enough to understand that it isn't just dealing out punishments and telling people what they've done wrong. Moderating is about keeping a community happy, organized, and most importantly, united.
•I can follow directions well. (Notice that I included each of these: "past experience, how much time you have online, your personal moderating style, why you think you'd do well" ;D)
•While I am experienced at moderating, I also have some experience with designing and digital art. (my da) I'm not exactly sure how this could be useful in moderating, but I have the skills if they're needed.
•I know my way around the community. I've been involved with the adoptable oekaki boards for months, and even though I've really only lurked around Plumerians, its amazing how much you can learn from just that.
•I am on frequently enough that I can jump right to solving any issues there are with the species when the come up rather than later.
•When it comes to moderating, I'm fairly organized. (Not a neat freak, though. Moderating comes before organizing moderator-related things)
•I won't take any extreme action without talking to you/other mods about it. (i.e. handing out strikes/bans)
•When moderating, I prefer to keep things to the point rather than rambling on and on and on about what they could have done better.
•I lurk. A lot. This may not seem like it really means anything, but lurking rather than spending time posting everywhere means that I can quickly dart between all Plumerian threads and keep my eyes open for any drama/questions/problems.
•I've been called mature by a lot of people due to the fact that I despise drama. I prefer to quietly and quickly put an end to it rather than blow it up into some huge fight.
•I do my best to be a friendly face within the community! I don't want people looking at me and seeing some mod hanging over their heads with a banhammer. ;u;
•I'm experienced with BBCode, making complex forms, and impressing judges, so I can also give tips and advice as well as answer questions adopters may have about their entries. However, I'd keep myself from going so far as to provide large amounts of assistance to single forms, as this could lead to me developing bias.
•I'm not an intimidating face in any way. I've come to really find a nice place in the Plumerian community so far that I'm happy to stay in. c:

Please don't post this sort of thing; it's against the rules and a huge slap in the face to the artists and the winner. [insert winner's name] had just as much of a right to win this Plumerian as you did, and I can assure you the artists aren't biased against you or anyone else. If you really need to let out some anger, try the TTAY, but please don't include the species name, any artists' usernames, the winner's username, or anything else that could connect it back to this contest, as this is a fairly upsetting thing for those users.

Before PMing them, I would figure out what they had traced, who it was by, and overlay one onto another in photoshop for one final check to make sure it was traced. Then, I would use a reverse image search site to figure out where they had posted the traced image, (DA, FA, etc.) and report it on all of those sites as being traced. Finally, I would report it to the CS moderators with proof as to its tracing, as art theft on CS is a job for the official moderators, not species mods. However, if the CS moderators somehow failed to respond to the report within several days, then I would PM them.
Please take this image down here and anywhere else you've posted it, as it's traced from [insert link to original piece] by [insert link to original artist]. This is art theft, and isn't tolerated on CS or any other site for that matter.
After a week or so, I would reverse search it again to make sure they hadn't posted it anywhere else and that it had been taken down.

Please don't whine/complain about staff entering contests. As well as being against the rules, it's not exactly nice to the staff member(s), either. You have just as much of a chance as winning as they do, as all artists do their absolute best to be unbiased towards all contests and entrants.

- I'm a moderator for ~koda~'s foxerfly adopts and I've so far managed to keep the community bubbling away happily
- I've had experience with a few messy dealings before, these were handled discreetely and with a calm demenour.
- I'm on here fairly often, and spend lots of time in the Adoptable Oekaki/Created Pets section - I love adoptables
- I'm straight to the point - nobody likes a mod who flaunts their stuff and leaps onto every post with a snobbish demenour.
- I'm not a very biased person, drama and spam is drama and spam to me. If someone is disobeying the rules they are disobeying the rules - be it my best friend or the president or a stranger - Spam is spam.
- I really love this species - this gives me motivation and the desire to keep this community a happy one!
- I don't see a moderator as a power wielding position - your job is to just give discreet reminders to keep this species smooth running.
- I'm professional and sleek, my posts are not spammy lengths nor massive jumbles of big words - I'm human and I get other people
- I'm most likely a person to have a quick post reminder to demonstrate that I have been doing my job and then a helpful pm for those who are just a little unsure of themselves - if this is the case for spam I am considerate and explain the situation rather then just yell my head off.
- I don't butt in unnecessarily if someone else is dealing with the problem, I'm not one to blow small incidents out of proportion.

Please do not make posts insulting both the artist and the winner of this competition. The winner was the judges choice not yours and in their eyes they are deserving. All judges are unbiased and though everyone put effort in to their forms not everyone can be a winner. Please refrain from posts like these, they are hurtful and spammy.
