Why should you be a mod?: I think I should be a mod because I am very active with this species. I have full slots and have been with it since almost the very beginning. I am online every day for at least two hours, most days more, and would have plenty of time to stay up-to-date with these babes. I have seen various argument on the fanclub, but have mostly avoided adding or commenting on them as I have strong belief in letting mods deal with issues like that instead of getting involved. I have been a moderator and/or owner for some adoptables, but I feel like helping a popular species like plumies will really help me become a better "people person" <3 v w v

Why should you be a mod?: I've had plenty of modding experience in the past and now. Although a lot of my experience has resided off site nowadays, I still have done some modding experience on CS. I was a moderator for the game, Lights on Lights off, twice (2012 and 2013), and I'm sure it is known to be a very popular game to have been played on CS during Halloween. In early 2012, I also moderated Bloom Dapple (A series of pets created by n e m o), but left the team later on. I also temporarily moderated Adopt A Newbie.

On dA, I moderate quite a bit of groups. PokemonFans4ever, YoungArtistsGroup, Pokemon-Revolution (And its chatroom), WeAreThePokemonFans (My dA group) and have been recently accepted to moderate in draw-em-all (Although I'm still waiting to be invited to the group otherwise).

Besides my moderating skills and experience of dealing with users breaking the rules and reinforcing them, I also am unbiased and am not afraid to punish users that I know quite well if they break the rules. Of course, I won't be onto every little detail that is in the post, as this can create a quite harsh and annoying moderator. Instead, I answer lightly and take the member's hand into guiding them better for the next time (If it is minor of course). For the more harsh situations, I remain a serious member and don't lash out no matter how rude the member may be (This has happened recently but I cannot show it).

I understand that being a moderator doesn't always mean telling members to follow the rules, I know it requires giving members a helping hand in answering their questions. I do not mind giving the same answer to users who ask the same question over and over again, as I'm used to this. I can confidentially say I'm a very gentle member when it comes to helping out users, and wouldn't dare to come off as rude.

The reason I think I should be chosen overall is because I feel my qualities and skill here and off site could be used here, as I do feel I match the minimum basic standards of a moderator here. Not only that, but I'm quite active on CS and can put some time into lending a hand here as well. I'm also very dedicated into doing my job right. c:

Why should you be a mod?: I am a staff member at Adopt A Newbie, so I am no stranger to directing people and informing them of their mistakes. Since the thread has me working with newbies, I'm pretty gentle with my moderating. I can handle most situations pretty well, and i try not to be overly rude or intimidating, and I do have a habit of using emoticons to lighten the mood and not appear as blunt. Despite my moderating style, however, I can still be firm and get the job done. I am certainly not biased, I will treat anyone who breaks rules the same way, whether I know them or not. However, if I know that i can't handle a situation where my friend is involved, I would leave that to someone else so as to not influence the situation in any way. I'm pretty active on CS, and I find myself trying to find things to do often. I'd be able to check the thread often and keep a lookout for spammers and troublemakers, and keep the thread clean. Though I have not been active with the species at all, I feel like this is a good opportunity to start and join the community!

Staff do not have any advantages over regular users when trying out for Plumerians. The Plumerian staff is not biased and everyone has a fair chance of winning. Staff applying does not change this. ^^

Why should you be a mod?: Well i have been a moderator for many places most being in user made adoptable pets/characters. But the situations are relatively the same. I handle situations responsibly with patience and kindness. You will never see me argue or bash anybody for making a mistake as that is not the jobs of mods but only to inform whats right.

I am on at least 3 hours a day in the evening, usually more. Since summer break is coming up i will be online pretty much 24/7.

Examples:

Most are pretty big communities so there are a lot of situations to handle.

I would first warn them that customs are reserved only for staff unless given written permission by charchar2: "I'm sorry but customs are reserved for the staff of plumerians only, you can always try for a free adoptable plumerian above created by the artists that work here. <3"
If they continued to beg and whine that they really wanted a custom plumie i would give them a second warning and be more strict about it: "Please do not beg/whine. Staff work hard to make plumies and in the end they deserve a plumerian custom. Next time you ask you may be issued a strike."

I would warn the gently that asking to be an artist/a part of the staff is not allowed unless applications happen to be open: "I'm sorry, but plumerians is not accepting any staff at this time. Maybe charchar2 will open them in the future, so keep your eyes open!"
If that didn't stop them from asking i would warn them once again, but more strictly: "You have already asked this and have been told that no staff is being taken in at this time. It is against the rules to beg or whine, you may be issued a strike next time around."

I'd tell them that what they are doing is technically guilt tripping and its very rude: "That is quite rude of you in my opinion and the opinions of others. Guilt tripping is not allowed at plumerian adopts and you could be punished for this type of behavior. Making the judge and the winner(s) feel guilt about winning is very disrespectful and will not be tolerated. Please do not do this ever again.
If they continued to be disrespectful i would most likely notify you and ask if i could strike them.

First i would most definitely notify you (charchar2) after reporting the post. After the post was deleted I would shoot them a PM and handle the situation in private so i don't cause a huge drama situation: "Tracing/replicating the plumerian lineart is an illegal action which can result in a ban from plumerians and http://www.chickensmoothie.com/. You are not allowed to copy linearts that are not yours or claim any type of art that is not your own. I am discussing with charchar2 what your punishment will be, but for now please stay away from any plumerian threads."

I would definitely warn them that this is very disrespectful to staff and other entrants: "Staff do not make contests biased. The artists of plumerians were specifically selected for their fairness in judging contests. Don't give up on your form!"
If they argued with me and gave me any sort of proof that the artist was doing biased results so that their friends can win i would PM you about the artist/person who was judging the contest, and ask the artist about it.

I believe I would be a great mod because I feel like I can handle situations without furthering situations. I also feel like I could make sure feelings don't get hurt. One reason why I really would Like to be a mod is that I myself have seen some things that a mod could have posted about, and I couldn't because I don't have the duty ^^ I don't have any legitimate experience, only some quickly dead species, or inactive species, but everyone needs a place to get initial experience, and I would love to get my start here.

I would have to check with you on this to see if you agree that it was traced, because art theft is a bit more serious than these other things. But if you agree'd, and weren't handling it for yourself, I would say this;

Please don't say things like this. It's considered guilt tripping, and that is not okay. If staff sees comments like this, you could possibly make them feel bad for entering. They have as much of a chance as anyone as the artist are people chosen by char, and are trusted but to be biased. If you try hard you have as much a chance as anyone else who tries hard.

Why should you be a mod?:
I would like to be a Moderator so I can help this wonderful community grow and 'evolve'. It's an amazing community now, but I'd like to help improve it. I'd love to see this community grow into a cheery and happy one, with no drama or problems whatsoever. I enjoy helping people to enhance their experience here, as well as warn rule-breakers who ruin the thread for everyone with problems and other irritating drama. Like I said, one of my wishes for Plumerian's is for this amazing thread to have a cheery community, and troublemakers just can't let that happen. They stir up too much drama for other people to really be happy, and as a mod, I wouldn't let that happen. I would correctly issue warnings and strikes to rule-breakers, regardless if they're my closest friends. I also wouldn't give my enemies warnings or ban them for no reason, as I need to be fair. As for handling, I'd gladly and quickly handle questions and different situations. I check the thread often, so I would be quick to answer other's questions and regards. I can tell what spam is, and what is appropriate for our thread due to experience. I would kindly answer questions and tackle situations, but I wouldn't be like: "Oh, no, it's ok. Your traced Plumie is fine!" And sugarcoat everything, but I won't be harsh like: "Ugh, read the rules! You can't have a custom, stupid!" either. I may not have had as much experience as others, but I've modded for various adoptables. Most died quickly, but I had some experience modding on them. I've also been a part of many major communities, so I know exactly how to handle situations and how to determine whether something is appropriate or inappropriate. I'm currently an 'admin' in my Transformice (This fun, popular game) tribe. It currently has over 2,000 tribe members, and I've gotten plenty of modding experience from that alone. Now, to my activity on this site. Since it's summer break, I'll be on literally everyday unless I have to go to some event or something. I'll be on for hours at a time, from morning till night. Once summer break is over, I'll still be on often- probably about every day, just for less time. Anyways, thank you so much for taking your time to read this, and I hope that you enjoyed my passage.

The artist isn't against you- they always choose depending on the quality of your form, unless it's a FCFS or a raffle, and whining/guilt tripping isn't going to help in anyway. Why should you be a mod?:

I definitely want to try my best to keep plumerians a friendly community. It's the backbone that keeps us going and I don't want to see this wonderful place come to an end! I've been a moderator on a handful of adopts before, which unfortunately closed do to lack of interest towards the designs. I'd love to have another shot at it with plumerians! I'm currently an artist for nannucks, a species that has fewer active staff at the moment than plumerians. As an artist, I also answer any questions about the species that pop up and resolve any arguments that may stir up over competitions side-by-side our mods. I've also recently been promoted in staff to help out one of the mods, too. Since we are really the only two staff that can be online right now she has been very overworked, trying to handle her job as a full artist//nursery artist/mod while I only was a partial artist. Now I'm also a full artist and I try to lessen her strains a bit by making most of the nannucks so she has more time for her other jobs! The owner hasn't been online since March, but we still find a way to manage together with a lot of teamwork! It can be a tough job, but it's well worth it <3

Below in the sample area I've included a few of my actual responses at the bottom to questions I've received in the past on nannucks as a little extra for you. Unfortunately they are from a little while back, and my moderating style has changed since then, but I thought you might like to see some real situations I've been in <3

Even though I may not have as much experience as other applicants for this position, I would definitely strive to be a helpful and friendly mod that people won't be scared to approach. I myself have been scared to talk to mods for other species in the past, and I would hate to see plumerians have mods that are rude or unfriendly towards others. I find that my moderating style is sort of kind and calm, yet it gives the needed point. I don't want to upset anyone by being harsh, but at the same time I will not hesitate to enforce rules as needed. I'm always very unbiased towards everyone, as an artist for nannucks I make sure to not pick friends in competitions just because they're my friends. I look for hard work and dedication in forms, and I can definitely bring that into play here!

I try to give a benefit of the doubt towards people's actions even when they did something wrong - they might of done something by accident and can learn from that mistake to move forward. If they don't understand the point I'm trying to make, I will go one-on-one with them and try to work them though it as respectfully as possible as to not hurt their feelings. We all make mistakes, and some are easier to fix than others. If the offense is serious I can give them advice on how to fix the problem they caused, whether this be a simple apology or a huge essay on why they're sorry. I'm the type to forgive someone, and I find it easy to make friends. This might come in handy if you're modding a species, you never know who will need help or guidance since there are a wide variety of people on CS. You can never predict who might need your help and guidance ^^

In general, my internet time daily ranges from 3-12 hours depending on a lot of factors but hovers around 5-7 on average. Some of these factors include Girl Scout events, orchestra, family events, and hanging with friends but I'll always have extra time to get online even on days with plans and I'm rarely never online. I know I have jobs here that I need to work on, and I'm very responsible with managing time. I try to be as active as possible on all of the threads, and it's very common for me to pop into join.mes so I can catch up with everyone and socialize. I feel very welcome in this community, and I would love to give back to it in any way possible <3

I'm very glad you show interest in plumerians! However, we don't give out customs to the public nor make plumerians based on fursonas/characters that you own as this is a closed species. There are a lot of plumerians for adoption right now, why not check some of those out instead? ^^

A lot of other people entered as well, so you're not the only one who feels sad about loosing. But by saying things like this, you can really make the winner very upset and we want to keep this community as positive as possible!
I can also assure you that the artists here are very unbiased. Plumerians are judged by the content of forms - not by who is posting them. Don't give up trying to win one just because you've lost! There are a lot of plumerians going up for adoption in the future, in fact many come out each week. I'm positive that you can win one soon if you keep trying your best! There are a lot of ways you can perfect your form if you might be struggling with creating forms - if you'd like any advice feel free to ask me or any of the other staff. Remember that there will always be more plumerians for adoption, so don't give up if you don't win a few right off the bat. <3

We're all treated the same way with competitions, and artists are strictly unbiased when judging - including competitions that involve staff trying out. I would go for it and try out for this plumerian if you want to. Don't hold back because staff are entering! If you put a lot of effort into your form you might just win! <3

Since I've answered these I've been learning different techniques to better handle situations and I always try to be much more friendlier and unbiased toward other people. I've had quite a privilege that I've never run across any major rule breakers before, and I mainly just answer questions on threads, but I know how to handle more serious situations from peers I look up to that are also moderators. I've learned from the way they act, and I hope I can bring this skill to plumerians as well <3

Nope! Feel free to order a breeding even with two nannucks that you don't own, as long as you have permission from their owners c:



where do we get the nannucks? Can we order customs?


To get one, you have to adopt them by filling out a form on an adoptable nannuck's page. Nannucks for adoption will have an 'adopt me' sign in their image, all others are already adopted. To see created nannucks, look below the main image and you will see lots of little images of them. Clicking on one will take you to that nannuck's page. As of right now, we do not offer customs and probably will not in the future (but this is up to Rax and lhw).

There's no real way to tell with so many artists popping in and out :c

i don't think there is one other than this main page, but usually any for adoption will be on the closest pages of colored in drawings (which can be found right below the main drawing on this thread). they'll have the brown 'adopt me!' sign like the one i just posted, but there isn't a post with a list of available ones. your best bet would be to keep the main post handy, and keep an eye out for any with the sign ^^

they might be in our new archives in the future, but we aren't up to this point yet with the newer nannucks. we're still working on archiving the two older nannuck threads right now.

How Often Am I Online?
•I'm online about 8-9 hours a day, 7 days a week as it is summer vacation for me and I have a lot of spare time. Of course during school days (which start in September for me) I will probably be online 5-6 hours a day, 7 days a week. These times aren't set but they are pretty accurate and if I will be away due to illness, trips, or personal reasons I will notify you before hand.
So due to my many hours spent on CS I will be able to go through the Plumerian fan club, main page, and adoption pages often and keep them clean from problems and arguments.
Am I Biased?
•Honestly, I don't recall ever being bias in a argument or problem before no matter how close to home they gets. I'm know for solving arguments at my school between friends and others because I listen to both sides of the story before I make my conclusion. In the end my response is always fair and never mean enough to put someone down.
My Past Jobs/Experiences (Why I'm Classified)
•In my real life I am a part of many organizations and groups that have been know to deal with people who are break the rules and who are rude and disrespectful about it.
→On CS I'm the owner & moderator of The Rio Fan Club and I am a part of many other clubs where I do my part to make sure that there are no rule breakers, spam, or rudeness on the pages.
→In real life one of my jobs is as a assistant summer camp coach for little children. There I learned patience and kindness because with arguing children you need both of those traits to the extreme to solve a problem!
→I'm also a founding member of a organization called "Safety of Animals Domestic & Wild of -my city here-"
There we are often dealing with rude and horrible people who mistreat animals. There I learned to get my point across without insulting the other person even though I'm really angry at them.
→I am also the president of a group of people called "The Friends of the Library Council" where I also had many experience with rule breakers and disrespectful people and I have learned to deal with them.
→I'm a moderator on a mine craft area server where I have experiences moderating, giving out warnings, and even banning people even though I hope I won't have to do this here. But I have had first hand experiences in horrible situations so I will know how to deal with them if they may happen here.
My Personal Moderating Style
•I will simply remain calm and carefully explain to this person there mistake. I wont be rude about it even if they are rude back and I will make sure not to publicly embarrass them due to there mistake.
Why I Want To Be A Moderator:

I suggest you wait for a Plumerian that catches your eye and try to adopt it by filling out a form! If you would like a custom the owner sometimes hosts events in which sometimes you may have a chance to win a custom pet. Have a nice day!

When we do need more artists Charchar2 will post a message under 'events' saying that guest applications are open. There's no need to be rude -insert name of person who said the above-. I don't think your form was a waste and neither do the artists. They artists work hard and are usually stressed when the competition ends as there are so many good forms to chose from. This is a popular adoption page and many people try out for the pets put up for adoption and many people don't get plumerians at first after all there's only one winner for each contest. Just keep trying eventually you'll get the plumerian that you want, by working hard on your form. If you need help feel free to ask for advise on your form in the plumerian fan club. There are many people there that would be happy to help you! I hope you get the plumerian you want eventually, I belive in you! C:

Past experience??
Currently I am an artist for iFoopet's Puffball adopts. As an artist, I have to enforce the rules on different threads and during adopt competitions. Since I am an artist, and I have to hold adopt contests, I have to be able to be un-bias towards the competitors which I think could help me as a mod if tow users were involved in a situation. I have been artists and mods for a bunch of other small adopts owner by friends, that have all died off now, but even the little adopts have helped me with my 'modding' knowledge c;
Time you have online??
Well over the summer, since I have such a busy social life, you know, since I am miss popular, I can only get on once a week I am on almost all day everyday. During the school year, I am definitely on less, and am able to be on just for little random moments. In real life, I am a soccer player, so I have practice every night of the week,so when I get on, it will e late at night, before I go to bed. I think if I am chosen to be a mod, I will be able to still check up daily and do a sort of an end of the day run over of things c:
Personal moderating style??
I think my modding style reflects my personalty in a lit of ways. If i ever see a little kid crying or my dogs star to whine because they want a treat, well if they are with me, they are definitely going to be spoiled and get what they want. I am a huge softie, and I cant stand to see others sad. On the other hand though, I have three sibling, and am a middle child, with younger siblings. I am responsible for them when my parents are away, so I know what is best for others, and know how to be firm when needed. I have also babysat before so I understand how to say no, and where the line is between having fun ad getting hurt. I like to enforce the rules, with out being a complete fun sucker, and without interfering to much or too often. I try to say no, with out hurting anyone's feelings, and with causing a commotion, or too much of a fuss. Also I would like to keep things short and sweet without giving them a 1000 word lecture on how spam is bad, and making the user feel really guilty. I feel that the job of a moderator is not to lecture, punish, or make users feel guilty but simply enforce the given rules, and step in only when necessary c;

I would like to just make a little self promise for myself, so if I am chosen as one of the lucky users who is chosen to become a moderator, I can remember what I need to do, and what I promised. I want to promise to make sure that all users within the Plumerian community, are happy, and feel safe from harmful users. I want to make sure that users feel safe and able to speak their mind and honest opinions, with out having to be afraid of being made fun of for what they think. I want to make sure that the Plumerian species, stays a friendly environment for those of our younger viewers out there, and that, none of Tess's rules are broken at anytime. I want to make sure that all the members in the Plumerian community feel 100% comfortable talking to me, and are able to tell me about any problems that they might be having, and that they all feel comfortable and and trust me. -que cheesy dramatic, patriotic music- Overall, I want to improve and protect the plumerian community any way I can

Since the plumerians are a closed species, you are not allowed to make or ask for a custom. If you are looking for a custom of your fersona, you are going to have to look for another species, an open species. Please, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. The artist are not bias against you, they choose the winner based off who they thought would be a best fit owner for this Plumerian. I am sorry that you were not chosen, but don't be discouraged, there will be many opportunities to win other Plumerians in the future. You can often learn from your mistakes, and no form is a waste of time. Each time you enter, you can learn how to make your form better, and improve next time. Also, you are not allowed to try and guilt trip the artist, and make them feel bad, so please do not continue this further.

This picture dose not belong to you, it belongs to -insert user here-, and it is considered art theft to trace another user's art. I am going to have to ask you to please remove this art. It is against the Plumerian rules, and Tess's rules. If this is continues farther, I am afraid that consequences could be more sever, art theft is not tolerated, I am sorry.
For art theft, I think that a strike/ban should be issued, but I would definitely discuss it with Charchar2 to make sure that any warning issued would be appropriate and fair. I would also confirm that the picture is traced, and pm the owner, as long with a CS admin, or Oekaki Mod.

The Plumerian contests are not based on who entered, the effort and quality that is put into the form. The artist/judge chooses a user who they believe will be the best owner for that Plumerian, has completed their form the best. Your chances are just they same as any staff member who enters.
