Thanks Hiccup, I do hope the nursery stays open for a long while longer because I can truly see so many benefits, and it'd be a half-way for the community. The adopts might be closed but the Nursery can be a controlled way to let others gift and adopt JBDs, also JBDs can be kept alive within families. Sorting out Gens and waiting periods won't be much of a problem ether.
Bring the whole species back to the good old days in a way ^u^
And more importantly, keep it that way.

Aye, all good things go to an end uwu Its a shame I never got my girl Juni a mate, but honestly now I've had over a year so that's totally my fault xD
Thanks Hiccup, for giving all of us things to do with our time here uwu I know I can't be he only one who was going to quit but ended up staying when they saw these fluffy dragons cx Then one thing lead to another and I found my way to being an artist in a really loving community with little interest in leaving now c: Beans started a revolution of fluffy dragon things, so you should be kinda proud of that cx
My only word on the nursery staying open a little while longer is that people will try to rush relationships and do something similar to a one night stand to have babies cx But, seeing as you might not seem to care? (I'm sorry, you just comes across as "Hey its your bean, do as you like." which is neat ^^ But sorry if I read you wrong xD) Well, then its their decision. Everyone wants their bean to have babies and the last chance is the last chance after all, so they could work out the details later maybe.

Okay so here's my opinion.
I greatly respect the decision to quit ownership, as its stressful and I understand why you may not want anyone else to own it. Despite this, though, I think there should be some way for couples to be able to breed after its shut. I own a lot of younger beans who I feel deserve a chance to have their own family. I mean, I am really active myself and I feel that it is sad that a lot of active owners wont get the chance. I also think if you do indeed give us a way, you could possibly give us another slot maybe, because ablotvof people who are full may feel slightly cheated that there would be no chance
Im not being rude and I know its your choice but this is my opinion. Thank you for reading :3

I'm a bit sad to see this beautiful species closing, I've been stalking since they opened but never got a chance to have my own. I really would love to see the nursery stay open since it would be a chance for dedicated non-owners to still be able to adopt a bean. However I can see a huge rush to breed if it does, the artists might get overloaded and not many would ever go up for adoption since they would be even more prized by their owners. I'm a bit torn o:
I'd love to see more beans go UFA in the future, but the one thing I've been wondering about is if they'll be auctions or sales for currencies if they do happen (not saying that they will). If they become exclusively put up a few every so often on DA I'd be absolutely fine with that, but if they are for currencies there'd be no way for a lot of people, including me, to get them since younger kids cant always buy thins online nvn
I do agree that there was a bit too much going on with JBDs and something needed to happen to stop it </3
All I can say is that I will miss this species to death :c

*please note that this is not a rant: I'm just replying and it's rather long quq
I do respect your decision, but just like with how I feel about American government, I don't necessarily agree with everything within it.
I'm not staff, so I don't know all the details naturally, but having been an active and involved member {just check my ask} of the community for the past year or so, and I do have a good {yet still reserved} view of what's been going on. And with the latest event, everyone knows everything, which is a bit much {like someone getting that journal you wrote when you were in sixth grade, it's too much information to be given to everyone even though it was meant to clear the air and remove doubts}.
Hiccup wrote:I recently heard about this huge mess involving certain people and "illegal" jbds. I remember I told certain users they could rp illegal beans just for fun, as long as they didn't make it public and kept it to themselves. I know it's not really fair, but I told them it was ok, so stop being so harsh about it. I don't mean to sound awful right now, but staff, come on, aren't you taking things too far? Let them keep their beans, geez. It's not like they're breaking the law.
Coming from a user who wasn't involved and was immediately {mostly} infuriated with the way the situation was handled, I'm again slightly confused with this. While how the staff went about with the bannings was wrong in itself, they still went against the rules you created for the species and for its members, so the bannings themselves are justified. Playing favorites or keeping information is what got us into a mess in the first shut-down back a few months ago, and playing favorites in a situation like this is very likely to lead to another mess, even with the species closed down.
Hiccup wrote:Also, I guess agings can still be done by artists who created the beans, if they're ok with it.
Would regular users still be able to age their beans, considering that the user is perfectly able to? It might get a bit hectic if just artists who created the beans were available for aging, and there are users like myself who are more than able to agings for others.
Hiccup wrote:I still haven't organized my thoughts about the breeding stuff, but I believe it could happen. It's a last chance for breeding, after all.
What about beans that are still teens and are set-up/guaranteed to be mates in the future? There might not be time for them to be aged and what not, and like what's been mentioned before, shutting down the nursery would be difficult and hard to do considering that there are plenty of beans out there still without a family. While they are just pixels, they're characters, and characters that are an ingrained being that admittedly, we all love and cherish.
Hiccup wrote:Marmoset, I know it's been a long time, but some things just have to come to an end.
I don't feel comfortable giving my species to someone I don't even know in real life, and I also don't want to make them an open species because they would no longer be special to those who put so much effort into winning one.
No, once the Nursery shuts down, breedings are gone as well.
I had said it was temporarily closed, but I've decided to close for good. I'm not even active to know what's going on with these guys anymore.
I might release some adopts on dA later on, yet I doubt that will happen.I won't promise anything. For now, it's over.
Making them open species has its pros and cons, but if the IRs could connect just as well with the beans that they made, and the staff can connect with their customs, I don't see how making them an open species would limit the connection one has with it. To me, it would make it even more of a connection, considering that the entire character would still be put in place before I came up with a design. But that's me, and not everyone has that.
As long as you don't have to pay for the adopts, I'm okay with it, and as long as everyone still has a chance. Just not paying, because that would make it difficult for everyone as it did with Kias. {Just using it as an example, because that's the only one I can think of/}
So, there you have it. If I came across as a bit pushy or rude I do apologize, as I've never written anything like this, and I'm still slightly upset over the decision to close something that drove me to better myself and to help the community as best I could. I do hope that you have a good life outside of CS Hiccup, because you, and everyone else in the community, do deserve one.
Thank you for your time in reading this, and see you all around!

I know there has been a lot going on, but why don't you just get rid of slots and make this an open species like on DA, people have worked hard for their characters and it's just a simple dragon character. You were never makin money off of it, it was a way to have a good time that was taken too far. Just let people enjoy them further in a way that has no restrictions. Let people make and age their own beans, it's a selfish this to ask but why don't we consider it?
