Once you purchase a custom in the store, you ask the artist who you want to make your custom in a pm (unless you are COPPA, then post a form here). They'll ask for information and let you know if there are any issues or if they can do it.
(check the artist's hub to see if anyone is available)

There is a limit of one custom a month, yes. And the custom counts towards the month it's ordered on. So say you order a custom this month and it's not done until July, you can still order a custom in July.

Alright, we have an artist hub set up here where you can go to see which of our artists is accepting breedings and customs. Not all of them are done yet but it's a good resource if you want to plan ahead.

Second, our summer event has been extended so artists have time to get up more adopts.
