@Twili Imp :: The elderly kjaku smiles warmly- it appears your clear willingness to listen to their tales is greatly appreciated!
It isn't long before the fellow keeps you listening for hours on end about the mystical creatures they'd encountered during their journeys- dragons, unicorns, and everything that's (seemingly) just a fantasy. They explain in great, vivid detail about their experience "in hell" - a story that can keep anyone on edge. The day passes by quickly- and before anyone knows it, it gets quite late!
"I'm terribly sorry to have kept you so long with my silly tales-" The elderly kjaku speaks softly before standing up to get something from the kitchen it seems. They come back with 3

and a lantern that radiates heat so you don't freeze on your journey!
"Please, have a safe journey home- and may you have a fruitful Gloom Day!"
@opossum. :: The elder nods at your thoughtful words, and begins to tell... Quite a tale.
They decide to tell you a story not of hell or how they managed to get any of the artifacts in their house, but rather a story about the very first Gloom Day in their experience. The thing is, it's got quite a tall twist on it, it seems.
"Back in the older days, oh goodness, one had to trade their arm and leg for a single flower! Kjaku were selling flowers everywhere for such ridiculous prices, and everyone had gotten nasty to the point that if you had a flower at all, everyone would either beg you beyond belief or hold you on the edge of death 'till you gave them all up. One day during that frightful holiday, I've come across an unspeakable horror amidst the woods. These days, I'm unsure if you face these same difficulties, but I'd happened to cross by a terrifying monster with one eye- a beast whose body was black as the night and size knew no bounds. It was shapeless, almost, but boy it had an appetite for
us living kjaku! The vile monster tried to devour me whole where I stood, but I was quick on my feet- I had quickly grabbed a sharp branch and stabbed the beast in its eye! Before I knew it, it had exploded into a shower of flowers!" The elder remarks excitedly, though honestly, it sounds quite stretched beyond belief...
"In fact, I may still have some of the flowers I managed to snag and preserve from the day! Let me see.." The elder goes to look through their inventory briefly before presenting you with 4

!
"You are a fantastic listener, thank you. Please take these flowers for your journey- and you are welcome here whenever you may wish to stop by!"
@Golden-Boy :: The elderly kjaku grins softly, appreciating your "willingness" to listen to them despite the fact that they may well talk about wild non-sense. "I do hope the tale is indeed worth your time." The fellow remarks with hope. Not long after, they begin to tell a tale- an.. interesting tale, to say the least, and a tale that would most definitely consume most of the day's time. The fellow tells a vivid tale of a time they were completely
stranded amidst the "hell-ish" unforgiving blizzards of the north, where most of the horizon was caked in snow and any true "ground" was ice. They claim that they'd survived by the help of a towering monster they'd encountered during their journey, who kept them warm and sheltered. Just as everything seems all nice and smooth in the story, the fellow passionately raises their tone with intensity as the events take a turn for the worse- "The beastly fellow had betrayed me one night, alas! It seems hunger has taken a toll upon the fellow, for he tried to eat me! I made short work of them, however- I struck them between the eyes and they fell flat before flowers began to unnaturaly grow out from the collapsed fellow's body!"
O-oh... It seems that this tale was certainly less than believable, now..
"You may not believe it, but it was quite a sight- a true memory. Thank you for listening to my tale, and rest assured I took some of the beast's flowers as my own!" The fellow retrieves 4

for you! Huh.
At least the fellow gave you some flowers to make it worth your while... But really?
@Macyduke :: The elder nods, with a bright look upon their face. "I am the kjaku who went to hell and back, that I am." It isn't long before the fellow starts telling a tale that won't end until
hours upon hours later. But for certain, it's every bit of "thrilling" and "adventure-ish"! From deadly encounters to puzzles and trials, the fellow's tale sounds like a fantasy series! When they finally finished talking, the brightness of the sun was no more- it had become night so swiftly!
"O-oh, look at the time! Outrageous, you have my apologies for keeping you so long- I do believe it's Gloom Day, though? Hopefully these will be of some help to you! Thank you for listening to my tale-" The fellow swiftly makes a visit to the kitchen to bring you back 5

!
"Maybe by the end of Gloom Day, you'll have some tales too, and 'trophies' to show!" The fellow teases. Hm, maybe they should start writing a fiction series..
@suplauren :: The elderly kjaku smiles warmly, putting the dried flowers back after you had a glance at it.
"I won't be giving you dried flowers for Gloom Day, that won't do!" The fellow brings out a basket of fresh brimming flowers- how they're still fresh is unknown (maybe due to one of their many "tales"???) , but as thanks for listening to the wild tale they shared with you, they hand you 3

!
@Smilechild :: The elder sighs at the memories that they shared with you in the form of tales- some happy, some unpleasant- but the look of appreciation is apparent upon their face. They'd gotten passionate about sharing these stories, and you sat through every one of them! The fellow quietly, but briefly leaves to bring back 3

from the kitchen for you!
"These should help you in your journey through Gloom Day, I hope. You are remarkable for listening to my stories, thank you."
@le$bian :: "Oh, I see. I don't blame you, you must be too cold and tired to hear an old fellow's tales." The elderly kjaku responds.. Understandingly? "Before you go, I'd like you to at least have this-" The fellow hands you 1

!.. Is this out of spite, at this point? What are you gonna do with 1 flower?? I mean...
@ABeardedDragon :: The elderly kjaku appears to take great pride in your question of how they got some of the artifacts, especially the one you held! It isn't long before they spoil you with one tale after another about "how I got this" or "how I got that"- stories of treasure hunting, defeating monsters, or even saving someone from "certain" death. I-interesting! For the item you held in particular, the fellow puffs up with excitement as they describe in great detail that they went to the "ends of the world" to pry it from the hands of a corrupt angel!.. Wow, okay, that sounds
extra. But it does appear, you've given them quite a lot of joy asking about the artifacts! The fellow immediately makes a quick visit to the kitchen to bring you back 3

! "Some artifacts of your own for Gloom Day", as they call the flowers..
@rorythedork :: The fellow appreciates your willingness to hear their tales, even if they may just be a bunch of fantasies!.. Sure enough, as they progress through the tale they tell, it seems as if the "witches, monster bugs, and great big demonic dragons" they 'throw' into the tale of treasure hunting makes it not very believable.. But still, a fun adventure story, anyway! The fellow takes up quite a bit of the day having shared the story with you, and rewards you with 2

as thanks for keeping your ears open to their story!
@Lloril :: The elderly fellow appears to be quite fond of your curiosity! Without hesitation, they begin to tell you a story of wonder- the story of their ultimate decision to see the world for themselves. From what it sounds like, the fellow had abandoned everything they once knew and held in their 'childhood' to seek something of
greater value.. Sights, memories, battles, tragedies, victories- the elderly kjaku spoke passionately between the ups and downs, the magic they'd encountered and the hope it brought in their youth. The tone in their voice made the story sound enchanting, almost- but in the end, the fellow had stopped softly with what looked like a bit of regret?
"Adventure brought my life apart as a kid.." They spoke solemnly for a moment- "It brought my life together, stronger than ever, as an adult." A silence overtakes the room as the fellow reflects upon their own words (and the fact that you were so willing to listen to them)! Suddenly, the fellow asks that you pardon them for a moment- they visit the kitchen and come back with a handful of flowers for you! Woah!
They hand you 6

for your time, patience, and kindness as gratitude.
"Adventure gave me many prizes to collect in old age, I hope you find such trophies through your journeys as well!"
@Strudel :: The elderly kjaku appeared to have faint tears in their eyes as they'd finished the story. It was certainly something of a fantasy tale in its nature, but every single word the fellow spoke sounded like it definitely happened. After a bit of time, the elder comes back with a warm cup of tea for you, and sits back down.
"Thank
you for listening to my tale." They speak softly, with what sounds like a hint of sadness.
"It has been a long time, a long long time since I've had such a genuine listener. You have my thanks.. My greatest thanks." The fellow pauses momentarily before deciding that simply thanking you for listening so intently to the tale they hold dearest isn't enough!
"Child, any time you should need, it would be my greatest honor to help you in any way- Gloom Day flower collecting, or not. You may stay here as long as you like, and visit whenever.. If you would be strong enough to hear more tales, that is." The fellow jokes. It seems like they really want to 'pay you back' for the passionate interest you took in their tale!
(
Just who is this legend spoken about, though? It appears not even the rumors tell of their name- Do you happen to know by any chance? Comment a name+gender on their thread to identify this 'legend'!)
