However, when clicking on an adopt with "UFA" in the corners, you should make sure, that the competition is actually still open ^-^
Artists will always put an end date for the competition on their first post / the post that also tells you what you have to fill out, in order to compete for the Viscet.
--> For example, if you open the thread to the picture of the Viscet, that was created by Rescue, it tells you, what kind of form you have to fill out in order to win; and it also tells you, that the competition ends on November 15th. Therefore, you could still try out for this Viscets, if you wanted c:

The "UFA" itself is foremost to show how a Viscet can be obtained and does not neccessarily mean that it is still up for adoption.
If the sign is white, this simply means, that it is a regular competition, where you have to fill out a form to win
If the sign is green, the adoption is linked to DeviantART, which most of the time means, that the adoptable costs DA points
If the sign is yellow, the adoptable costs C$ (Chicken Dollar)
and if the sign is blue, the adoptable costs stubs, which are the species own currency -- info on stubs here

i was talking to someone about viscets, and i was wondering if it was possible for someone to turn another person's artist entry (for the guest artist comp and with the artist's permission) into their custom viscet? i don't think i saw that anywhere, so i wanted to ask and make sure ;v;

Of I want to gift a batch to someone, does it count as a gift or do they need to claim it?

Hi there! I am no mod, but i do know that a gift would only take the slot of gifting (1 per month) from them. It shouldnt count besides it. But, i also believe it could cost them 1 of their 2 normal slots of the month (so normal meaning main adopts). I am sure a mod/owner can confirm the information needed. :)

If you gift something, it naturally always counts as a gift c: that goes for unclaimed batches as well ^-^
And as Kydashing said, gifting counts for 1 of 2 monthly slots, together with normal adoptions c:
However, you can only always be gifted once a month; quoting the rule from the first post here:

Technically you can, but you need the artists permission along with transfering the design onto the main page. You cannot use the entry to become custom as, in order to properly keep track of archives, they must be transfered. You can request if the artist can transfer the said design or get permission so your or someone of your choice can. It sounds complicated but it is very possible! Again, a mod will confirm said information. :)
