Kjaku Participating: Gilroy
Prompt Response:
In the cold air, Gilroy found himself trying to rest, counting the flowers he had found and gathered from his journey over the past few days. The blue from the flowers seemed to fill his vision before he felt a burst of cold hit his being. Strange, Helios wasn’t supposed to return from the mountains yet, and the cold couldn’t have come from such a warm being, and Enemine was a standard temperature as everything else… the wind blew harder against his fur, causing him to panic and cover his basket of flowers with his body, not wanting the small flowers to blow away. He looked up, his eyes almost seeming to sparkle in his panic, he huffed in panic as he looked up. The sound of rustling and wind filled his hearing, but his eyes caught the sight of a figure in the nature ahead of him.
A blur of blue, bright against the darker tones around him, and what seemed to be a single darkened blur between the brightness of the blue. He saw the creature run, and he immediately believed that the creature was running in fear, to escape, that this creature’s bright colors had made them easy to be seen, and that they needed to escape with their speed more than their fur. Gilroy couldn’t bring it to himself to pursuit the other, clinging to his basket as the wind continued to blow against him. His voice strained, almost as if he didn’t wish to yell out, but the scream left him like a tearing through his throat. “Wait! Come Back!”
As the scream left him, his eyes wide in fear for another of his kind, the wind suddenly died down, and the blurred kjaku’s figure and sound left. Gilroy sat down in the presence of the silence, placing down his basket, and trying to truly put together what had just happened. The moment truly had a sense of extreme unreality, almost as if the entirity of the few minutes that had just passed were just part of a movie. And that Kjaku, with the wind and rustling accompanying such a creature. Was that a ghost, a spirit, perhaps...a demon? The winged Kjaku swallowed down, trying to think that it was all a dream, that he was hallucinating, anything to make him believe it wasn’t real. It couldn't be real. It felt like the definition of unreality.
Just as the red male began to believe it wasn’t real, and that all of it was in his mind, he heard a voice slice through the silence like a knife through melted butter. “You there!” He gasped, turning around to see the figure of another Kjaku, panting and seeming out of breath, he looked towards Gilroy and growled out before flopping down as if giving up. “I know you saw that darned fool in the woods...please tell me you have!” Gilroy did not know how to respond in words, it feeling as if calling out to the kjaku before had broken through his voice and destroyed his ability to speak. “They’re wanted, Alright? So, Can you tell me... what’d they look like?”
Gilroy coughed and tried to speak, through it came out as a squeak at first. The kjaku near him seemed confused at first, Gilroy nervously scratching at his neck before the voice that was removed from his soul was of an understandable tone and dialect, though still shaken up and clearly scared. “ I...I saw them with a...bright color of blue, almost as if the oceans themself had taken their brightest parts and placed it upon their body, and,,,and I saw a large part of them as a darker color..I think it was some kind of golden color. There were,,,specks of some other blues I think but...they were all overshadowed by that...bright blue...please be careful, they were quite frightening even in that blur.”
