Many people have added small defining tufts of hair to their JBDs without a problem, so yes you can do that. If it's a large hairpiece or something very distinctive (like a mane), you might want to think twice.
Ask the artist who designed your bean if you plan to make these kinds of changes, they may have certain preferences.

Because in real life species don't really go out and mingle with other species in that way. Lets just say beans go by the same rules, and don't get into loving relationships with other species.
Sorry if this is disappointing, but we don't want a bunch of beans going out and dating/ being mates with other species.

As of right now, death for JBDs is not allowed. This is because some users may kill off their bean just so they can have an extra adoption slot but still keep the original bean's design without having to readopt it or anything. Not to mention that beans are colorful, happy, creatures of joy and the death of one shouldn't be thought of. c:
What about in Role-play? As in; In one RP your bean dies, but in another your still using it alive? ouo Does that work?
