Ability to change clothing species version.

Would really love to be able to select what species a piece of clothing/accessory can fit so we can try and get items to work with species they aren't normally compatible for!
For example; this trench coat from the C$ store:
It fits all these species; Dog Adult, Bunny, Butterfly wolf, Cat Adult, Cat Child, Deer, Dog Child, Dwarf Hamster, Fennec Fox, Lion, Rat, and Syrian Hamster

But when I try to apply it to this pet it will only appear as Dog Adult version .
But if I was able to switch the clothing species to the rat version, I could make it work with a few well placed other accessories to hide areas that don't quite fit.

This would open up a lot of possibilities for dressups, support! c:

support! i've definitely had moments where i wanted to use a certain species' item artwork on a different species but was unable to since it defaults to the adult dog

Support! This would also be useful for dress-up scenes, as it can be annoying when you want to add an item that changes its fit, but because it’s not in the right animal pose you have to put the item on a random pet, add the pet to the scene, detach the accessories, and put the pet away. It’s still possible, but it’s very annoying.

I also have a suggestion on how it could work without changing too much; it could be that when you sort items by species, they have the appearance as if it was put on a pet of that species.
