and like thisfor oekaki posts,
altho these are just suggestions ofc ^_^I love these examples, and I think they're great.
However, I have another concern: How would filter words work in signatures? Could it just block out the word/words/phrase in black/grey or just hide the sig (like the post example above)
As for triggering images in signatures (like an image from a source that triggers my cptsd) I would just block..

- The entire post shouldn't be hidden--otherwise, people would use words they know are triggers for enough people (or, worse, words that they know are triggers for our moderators) to hide rule-breaking posts and make it take longer before someone realizes it breaks the rules or longer before a moderator can get around to it. (This isn't me being cynical; this is me being realistic on a site like CS) This is similar to one of the reasons proper spoiler tags are a denied suggestion.
nickjr wrote:Signature (and, by extension, avatar) blocks could be a separate suggestion. I believe that there's a thread already for blocking certain signatures but I can't find it... I know it's gotten support already with specific reasons cited being that some of us had already turned off all signatures or put some users on our block lists solely because of certain signatures. (Blocking entire signatures is conceptually different from blocking entire posts because any user's signature is the same across all of their posts, whereas every post in theory is different.)

that's true, i hadn't taken that into consideration. however, i believe that poses around the same risk as a moderator blocking a user and being unable to see certain posts. there likely will be other moderators who have little or no blacklisted words. although i have been thinking of options other than entirely hiding posts. i do think it would be nice to have two options.
1) hide the post entirely beneath a cover, as i'd stated previously
2) hide only the blocked word in the post
moderators could likely use the second option in order to continue moderating the site without viewing their triggers. there could be something that you check to change the way that blacklisted words are hidden.
