sorry this took so long :'D ive just been artistically burnt out wagh
sunset pups!!! these pups are for rylf, who will get to pick one to keep for free! the other two will stay with me until the challenge ends, at which point they will most likely be sold off! :3 one will randomly be determined as the parent of the next generation by coin flip, and then that pup will be the parent of the next gen. that gen has been preclaimed by LotusSilver, who will color in their parent next!
onto pup breakdowns!!
pup 1 - left - sunset star
this pup gets their colors from both parent A and parent B, notably A's pinks and B's oranges to create this fun sunset pup! their base markings are taken primary from parent A with the heart shaped spots on the paws, shoulders, butt, and tail-- but also has spotted markings, stripes, stars and toebean markings from parent B. edit wise they got parent A's long hair and jewelry, then from B they got the tiny wings, tiny horns, rounded ears, fluffy haunches, and fluffy tail. they also got pretty eyelashes! I tried to keep this pup simple to align with A's marking style, but their design felt a little too empty so I added the yellow star markings and white underbelly markings over top of what I already had done. I think they turned out cute!! also it's up to the designs' owner if the stars in this pups' hair are just stylistic shinies or if they're markings-- I could see it going either way! (this pup got those from parent B, who is in a similar boat of 'are those markings or are those just cool shiny effects?') also as a random note i was on the fence about whether to make this pups' eyes blue, but i ended up going with yellow to keep the palette more homogenous/harmonious like parent A. this pup isnt monochrome, since they have both pink and orange, but i kind of think of them as two monochrome characters connected by a blended gradient in the middle? this way the palettes stay somewhat same-y to capture that essence... if that makes sense? also as one more note the little gold on this pups' horns are rings around the horn itself, like a bracelet band, and the hoop on this pups' wing is like a hoop earring but pierced through the wing instead of the ear.
pup 2 - center - bubblegum goth
next i knew i wanted to do a black base coat and this was a LOT of fun to work with! since i took parent B's dark blacks and greys for the base, I took parent A's pinks as the rest of the designs' primary color, and I also tried to stay more towards parent A's marking shapes to tie in their design more. this pup has a mix of base markings from both parents, with A's heart-shaped butt marking and B's leg markings (stocking markings?) then over top I added heart markings (which both parents have) and some big blotchy spots more like A's marks, though B does have some too. for the face marks I took more from B, but added a cute little under-eye heart to tie in A again. the markings on this pups hair/mane are taken from B and their sunset mane, but using A's pretty pink colors-- and the stylized shinies/markings (owner of design can decide which) are taken from B, but are hearts only rather than being a mix of hearts and stars. i kept this design simple (and actually did succeed this time i think! woohoo!) to harken back to parent A. I also added blue toebeans because I couldn't resist. edit-wise they have A's hair and B's mane + tail. I also added some jewelry from A, and some fluffs on their back leg elbows because it looked cute. also they have B's eyeliner/eye style because it looked like it would fit. the gold dot on their nose bridge is a piercing btw! parent A doesn't have one there, but I thought it would look cute so I added it.
pup 3 - right - pastel valentine
this pup has a primarily pink base! once I did the black pup i knew i had to go the opposite way and take A's color as the base, then lean more heavily on B for marking shapes. I took B's leg/stocking markings as well as the striped markings on their torso and added some hearts and spots over top (notably they have two heart markings on their back thigh like parent A), and added a heart spot over their eye to match A's as well. this pup has a mix of shared small marking shapes, while using B's markings as a base coat to apply those little detail marks over. I also gave this pup a collar because I realized I hadn't on the other two, and I HAD to do one! they're just so darn cute! edit-wise this pup draws only from B, save for A's jewelry, becuase I wanted to do one pup without hair since B doesn't have any. they have a scruffy fluff puff on the top of their head though! and that has to count for something! this pup has a hair puff/fringe, horns, a mix between the standard ears of A and the rounded ears of B, a mix between the standard back fur of A and the fluffy mane of parent B, tiny wings, and a fluffy tail-- plus the collar and some minimal jewelry!
