apologies for the delay my friends! i've been a lil artistically burnt out lately, working on some crochet projects instead of digirally drawing to get a lil variety going on and hopefully keep the creative juices flowing. i do still plan on finishing the 10 gen challenges! just! it might take a little longer and have a less impressive turnover than i've been able to keep up with so far. anywho! this couple was SO fun to breed and i had a BLAST working on these pups! even though i started off pretty unmotivated, i ended up having a great time and really getting into the process. >:3c when I was swatching the parents' colors together my first thought was that they gave me sun/moon vibes so i leaned into that with the pups, theming them after a sunrise/set, day/night, and space stuff!
these pups are for Music_Lover who will get first pick of one pup to keep for free! the other two will stay with me until the end of the 10 gen challenge when i will sort out fates and likely sell a good portion of the designs (tho I do intend to keep a couple as souvenirs of this lil adventure we've been on!) so stay tuned for that! hope you like them! : D also the next gen has been preclaimed by Rylf, and the final gen has been preclaimed by LotusSilver, so there aren't any more claim slots available at this time. my other 10 gen challenge is also full on preclaims I believe but! i may do this again in the future!
pup 1 - left - sunrise / sunset
this pup takes base colors from both parents and is themed after sunrises and sunsets! their hair/mane/tail is a mix of parent A's light yellows and oranges with parent B's pinks to get this fun cotton candy sunrise effect, and the body is a mix of parent A's golden-orange colors and B's darkest black. for accents I wanted to do teal as the splash accent to add some fun visual contrast, and I think it turned out really cool! for markings I drew mostly from B for the basic shapes (the shoulder/back markings and where the light/dark areas lie on the design pattern-wise) because I felt we were leaning pretty heavy on A for the coloration, then over top I added star markings like A, with a sun marking added in place of B's thigh-heart marking to bring in more of that sun theme. I also added B's freckles and multicolor toe-beans, then added starry marks in this pups hair instead of B's white streaks again just to bring in that theme more! edit-wise from parent A this pup got the ear shape (minus tufts), stylish eyelashes and fangs, spiked bracelets, bat wings, and backmane (its meant to be longer like A's but more volumous like B's)-- and from parent B this pup got their long hair, unicorn horn, and their unicorn tail!
pup 2 - moon and sun
i had to do a solar pup it just had to happen. for this pup i used B's darker base colors and added A's golden base colors as an accent, gradienting them out in the mane and adding them onto the body markings. this pup leans more on A for their base marking shapes, since we took more from B for colors. I used general shapes from A's design (front leg and hind leg marks, as well as some of the face marks), added A's star marks, and added some stripes in the middle-- then to bring in more of parent B I added the toe markings, stars on the feet (in place of B's hearts), the spots on the back, and the gradient of the mane, in addition i also added the lighter yellow 'insides' to the gold markings on their shoulders to mimic how B's heart mark on their thigh starts dark but has a light 'core' or middle, so to say. again here i added some star markings to the hair, but this time i also added some heart shapes from B and kept all the stars empty/lineart instead of filling them in. there's also just one freckle on this pup which kind of looks like a tear droplet, or a mole, which i think is cute. edit-wise from A they got their horns, collar and star charm, their mane style (no hair), and their wings (I like to think this pup is the runt of the litter, thus why their wings are stunted/smaller than their siblings), and again the stylish eyelashes. then from B they got their ear shape, mane volume, and their tail.
pup 3 - space goth
this pup started again with B's base colors, but this time I left out the gold orange and brought in the teal and blue together because i just knew they were gonna look so pretty. I tried to take in equal parts for this pup but im not totally sure it shows. this pup has base marking shapes from both parents (light marks on both legs from A, back marking and saddle marking from B) with markings over top inspired by both (A's foot spots, star marking on shoulder from A with moon added in to bring the theme of solar bodies in, heart markings on back and thigh from B). the tail markings I mostly got from A, since B only has a gradient on their tail, but I did keep the gradient in the mane and hair. edit-wise from A this pup got their ear shape (with tufts this time!), fangs, their spiked collar (with a heart charm instead of a star), as well as spiked bracelets on their wrist and tail, plus the wings, tail shape, cheek fluff, small horn set, and eyelashes-- then from parent B they got their pretty hair and their unicorn horn. I thought having all the horns on one pup would be fun hehe. edit-wise this pup takes more from A on paper, but I feel like both parents here had similar edits so they do still look similar to B edit-wise!
