- more pups! these ones were pretty challenging, but i think they turned out fun! KogasBabyGirl is the contributor of the parent for this breeding, so they get to select one pup to keep for free and I will flip a coin to determine which of the other two advances to the next rung of the chain! the pups I keep will mostly be sold off/adopted out at the end of the chain so stay tuned for that! anywho i hope you like these pups!! onto the breakdowns!
pup 1 - left - waves in the forest
for this pup i took the brown colors from parent A and the tan colors + blues from parent B. i tried to mix the markings from both, using the layered pseudo-gradient of B's markings and combining the shapes from both parents' markings, since both have markings on their backs. I knew right off the bat that I'd want to do one pup with a mane with B's blue colors but a blending pattern like A's, then one of the opposite (A's colors with B's blending style)-- so this pup is the first of that set! this pup's colorful shoulder marks were taken from parent A, but accommodated to B's shoulder marking shape, giving them two spots on each shoulder rather than a segment of four in the middle of their body. from parent A they got their brown colors, the pattern of their hair/mane, their leg markings, their ears, and their face markings. from parent B they got their tan/blue colors, their hair/mane edits, the shape of their back markings, and their white pupils.
pup 2 - middle - sunrise on the rocky beach
this pup is the opposite to the first, the one with parent A's mane colors (the sunrise/set red/orange/yellow) and parent B's blending style for the mane (more of that striped-out look). I tended more towards parent B for the colors of the base, since I was using parent A's mane/hair color-- and because I used mostly B's body colors I relied more on A for the marking's shapes. I did also add spots like parent B though once I had finished the base markings because I wanted to tie them in more too! this pup also keeps A's motif of having a striking eye accent color that appears nowhere else in the design, and for that color i took one of B's purple hues, from parent A they got their hair and hair color, most of their markings (esp their legs/body), and their eyes accent. from parent B they got their base colors, their white pupils, their mane/tail situation as well as the striping pattern on their mane/tail, and their spots/toe bean markings. additionally, this pup is meant to have a big tail like parent A but I didn't quite have as much room as I'd have liked for it.
pup 3 - right - brookside sea
this pup takes their browns from parent A and their greys from parent B, and I wanted to include both the sunrise/set colors of A and the blue/purples of B on this pup-- so I included the blues as their mane/accent color and the reds as their eye color, keeping with A's style of having a bright accent color for their eyes that appear nowhere else in their design. I used the base shapes of B's markings, but overlayed them with A's spots and tail markings to give them some more from that parent, as well as their ear and face markings.I also thought it would be really cool to do one pup with the bright tail marking, but with B's colors! they have parent A's hair, ear, and tail edits, and parent B's backmane (but shorter, not the full length of their back) and parent B's neck fluff. this pup definitely challenged me the most, but I think they turned out neat!
I hope you like them! : D also I can't explain why pup 1 has a tail with no markings on it despite having two parents with a lot of tail markings... it just sort of felt right i suppose.
