generation 5 - you are here!
weehaw, another one down! this is probably going to be the last one in the 10 gen series for a bit since artfight is starting up in July and I want to put my artistic energy there! >:3 I'd highly encourage y'all to come fight me on though!! my username is remsleep and i'm on team seafoam!! anyway!!
we are now officially halfway done with both chains!! can you believe it? that's pretty incredible in my opinion!
this breeding is for FeatherDaCannible -- who will get first pick on what pup they would like to keep! the other two will stay with me (at least until the end of the challenge, at which point their fates will be decided) and I will flip a coin on which pup will advance to be the parent of the next round of the challenge. onto the pup breakdown!
- pup 1 - left - brookside pebble - when I first saw these parents I already knew I had to do one with the base colors from parent A, but with the colorful mane like parent B! Because I drew so heavily from A for colors, I took inspiration from B for most of the markings. I added more grey colors (some shades slightly lighter and some shades slightly darker) so I could have more layers of spots like B does. I really love how the greys and blues look together, it reminds me of a river.
pup 2 - middle - natural colors only - I wanted to challenge myself to do one pup with no unnatural accents, using the blacks and greys from parent A and the tans/browns from parent B.I tried to take the shapes from parent A's markings and include spots like parent B, but without blending the shapes out too much so they're still a little more simple to be true to parent A! I wanted them to be more simple than pup 1, keeping mostly solid shapes and deliberate minimal spots! their mane is striped with three layers of different grey/black from parent A. their black eye is for monochromancy's sake, and because it reminds me of a rubberhose cartoon. the owner is welcome to change it to a colored eye though if they'd like!
pup 3 - right - german shepherd - I wanted to mix colors for this one, so I added the browns/tans from B and the grey/black from A. for the funky mane colors on this pup I used the dark blue color from A's eye, and then the purple-blue-cyan from B (in this one I removed the green, so it's more blue-toned). I kept the markings most simplistic here, with minimal spots (notice how the three pups kind of go most-complex-spots to least-complex-spots as you go left to right? hehe, I thought it was fun). I tried to mix the shapes from both parents markings too, bringing A's back markings down further like B and adding a faux gradient like B's markings where they start dark and get lighter. I gave them A's colorful nose-- and as a fun lil details their eyes are the same colors as their funky colorful tails! I think this pup is the best blend of both parents personally. :3
