Lore Requirements:

-The Meeps-

Thy lady doesn't like pests, actually quite despises them. The creatures that are just in the way. Pitiful things she calls them.

I catch most of them, the roaches, the mice and anything else smaller. I rid the castle of all but the meeps. The meeps are like me but little. I am mighty compared to them. A grand leader. I hide them in the walls and the room below the castle that I call my own.

A Meep - small creature roughly the size of a large rat. It has the body structure of a feline but with clawed bird talons in the front with the head of a potoo bird. They are an odd creature and often mischievous. Scavengers by nature.

The group grows and I am GREAT. But they try to wander. Not hidden. Thy lady would be furious with them. A distraction. A burden. Creatures just in the way.

I tell them to hide. To stay within the walls. Where she can not see them. Or below the grand castle. An old storage place filled with shelves. Now filled with soft things, a nest for each.

I bring them dead things from the woods to eat. They eat a lot and yell at me. Always squawking at me. I don't like that, Lenore may hear them. They complain a lot. Always hungry. Much work.


-Golden Fish-

There is a swimmer that is little. Critter sized. Just below the waters surface.

I cant reach. Perched upon a stone just below the stone path that crosses through the air.

I have my talons in the water. Reaching. The shiny swimmer still farther away. I lean farther. Almost. It's there.

I can hear Lenore walking above. I wonder what she is doing.

The moonlight is crisp tonight. And the swimmer shimmers in the light. I need it. Almost have it.

Snatched. Success!

A quick peek between the claws. It golden almost like Lenores jewels. Its beautiful.

-He stares for a long time-

He is shaken from his moment by her voice. “Igor put that poor thing back”

He looks up and shock and awe. “Huh”

“Put. That. Fish. Back. NOW.” She said while looking down on him, eyes squinted in distain.

He releases it. Letting it fall back into the water. Free again.

And it happily swims away. “Hmrph”

He debates the moment. Having lost the bright thing. He glances around and notices and much larger being that is scowling from the surface.

He starts to creep away. But is grabbed and dragging into the water.

Squawking, and flapping. Water flies everywhere. Only a moment passes and he is once again on shore.

Ungraceful plopped down. Standing in defiance and squawking in rage. He turns to see who did the act of making him soggy.

The creature smirks. And sinks below the depths. The shiny swimmer following it.

“I warned you. Didn't I? To not touch that fish?” Lenore says. Having watched the event unfold.

“Yes, you did” I say. Stomping up the slope towards the castle.

All sorts of dark, opportunistic or misfortuned fables flocked to Valthor's army on his travels through the lands, and one of them was Kiran. Formerly a commoner fable living a carefree farmer life, Kiran was a half-unicorn - and, while he loved his parents dearly and never blamed them for anything, he suffered from his non-magically apt parent's heritage, for it left his magic weak, stunted in a way, barely able to control it and leaning more towards the side of non-magical farmers that mostly inhabited his home village. It was a good life, a life of a fair earth worker - but Kiran wanted more. He saw the wonders magically gifted fables would perform and couldn't help dreaming about one day becoming as powerful, as magically adept as them. He went to a magic academy, but could never keep up with the other students - after a few years, even the freshfables would often overcome him, and with time, it made him change to worse. The plain but happy life he had began to fade, making space for bitter drive to get better but never being able to, despite all his efforts. Eventually, it led him to take drastic measures - reading in a forbidden book about a ritual that could transfer magical powers from other fables to the user, he went on with that plan, determined to obtain magical powers for himself. But in his rash, desperate aim to increase his magic as quickly as possible, he did not study the spell thoroughly enough - particularly the part that stated it must only be used on living fable target. Skipping this part and entirely the one that described negative effects that would come from attempting transfer from a dead target, he went to get magic from the tomb of a magic user he knew of from academy remembrance tours - he thought his plan was flawless. The fable he'd take power from was already dead, they didn't need it, didn't use it anymore! He realised his mistake one step too late, when he felt piercing pain in his horn creep down to his face, and even though, with great struggle, he managed to break out of the spell, the permanent damage was already done. His head was now a skull, trapping him in a state between life and death, unable to cancel the effects of the ritual without dying himself. However little magic he managed to get from it was nothing compared to that disaster. He could no longer return to the academy, nor show his undead face to any of the bigger settlements where he would immediately be claimed a dark mage and subjected to imprisonment at best. His life was ruined. Alone and hurting, both physically and emotionally, he wandered the lands until fate led him to Valthor and his army of "evil". Evil sounding just about right for what he has become, Kiran joined his new master's army and with him, intends to create a kingdom where all beings of evil and darkness could live freely, not fearing the persecution from the goodies.
