Nikki and his husband enjoy a plethora of animals and family in their lives, but themselves only own a single dog. That dog, while being the absolute light of their life, though not being an equine, needed companionship as bad as the rest of the family.

Nikki had always dreamed of a horse, but their size made it difficult to make a fitting living scenario work, though he desperately tried to find ways to make it work. The smaller stature of a Galingale, as well as the intelligence, hooked Nikki from the moment he spotted this stallion. While their dog would be the first companion this Galingale would know, it isnt exactly impossible for there to be one or more of the feathered beauties joining the herd.

I had recently adopted a young filly named Nydara, who also had a bit of new-stable anxiety. We thought, what a perfect pair!
They hit it off immediately! At first greeting they both nickered, and nudged each others noses as if to say "hello friend"! When I released them into the pasture together, they immediately started galloping around in joy! Since then, we have had all their training sessions together. Each of them seem to learn a lot from the other. Nixon seems a lot more food motivated than Nydara, and will do ANYTHING if there's an apple or carrot in hand. He will proudly show Nydara any new tricks or moves he learned during training. Nydara has a funny fear of cats, and since spooking once or twice, Nixon picked up on it and will try to show Nydara how harmless they are by approaching the cats and even nudging and tickling them if the cats allow. Since they have created this bond, they both seem much more confident in themselves. Im sure this friendship will last their whole lives!
