welcome to offpossums! we're happy to have youoffpossums are a fun little open species project by yours truly, meant for building a community and having fun, while adopting, creating, and developing your very own offpossum! we hope you'll have a good time in this little (upcoming) community!
offpossums, of course, have their own lore with some worldbuilding and an indepth species descrption im still working on, but here are the basics for now: offpossums are a little critter who used to be a normal virginia opossum before contracting a disease called dirumorbus which has completely changed just about everything about them. they have a very stretchy and flexible body that can take nearly any pose, from extremely long noodle to big fluffy ball. they are intelligent yet a little stubborn, able to speak like humans. they usually have bright coloring as a warning to predators about their highly potent venom, however bites are rare and venom is a last resort when it comes to self defense. of course, all offpossums are different and there is huge variation from one individual to another. not all have horns, not all have bright colors, some are about the size of a normal opossums, others may get larger than even a horse! they are scavengers, much like a vulture, and they are keen on collecting bones and any other small natural oddities they can get their hands on.
more about lore, species anatomy, worldbuilding, etc etc will come out later. you do NOT have to follow ANY of these things in order for your offpossum to be considered 'valid', this stuff is more-so just for fun than anything else
