every layer had the lock alpha option ._. ... you could have used that... on the layer window, there's a little box and next to it it says "Lock Alpha" click it, and start coloring.
I am no longer on Chicken Smoothie. I'll probably log in now and then to keep up with my account maintenance, but I won't be around much
