EDIT: I hope it's okay that I have drawn my own background!
(Do not steal my writing)
I fling my arms around his waist and start
to weep pathetically, shivering against his
soaked jacket, my shuddering breaths influenced
by the cold. ‘I thought I’d lost you,’ I sob, as
he sits up, wrapping around me. He lets
out an exhausted breath; I can feel his lungs
fighting the moisture out, as his ribs rise
and fall slowly, yet exaggeratedly against my face.
‘Me too,’ he chokes, ‘if you hadn’t come and…
well, saved my life,’ he splutters, fighting
for breath.

These are two characters from my novel that I am currently writing- Plague.
On the left, Magpie, and the right, Darren.
The characters are actually normal humans, so I made the colours up, to match their personalities, only their mane and tail match the colours of their hair.
Here is a clip from my story, at the end of Chapter 8, that pretty darn well matches this scene, by the jetty.
In my novel, its in their apartment after Darren has fallen from a bridge and nearly drowned before Magpie risked her life to save him.

I collapse down beside him, in dry clothes now,
protectively wrapping my arm around him.
‘Never leave me,’ I say, nuzzling into his
shoulder. He just sighs and shifts slightly,
‘I just wish I didn't have to.’
These outstandingly beautiful lines by Raella.
