I saw the black cat sitting next to a white cat. I stared at the ground.
"Oh. My. Gosh." muttered Chase.
One the ground was snow. Yes snow. But it wrote out one word.
HELP.
I stared and the two cats began walking towards me, mirror images of each other. All of the sudden, everything made sense. I understood what the cats wanted me to know.
You see, the black cat said, staring at me with its blood-red eyes.
Although we are opposites, we are connected. Finished the white cat. I stood, transfixed by the two pairs of eyes, one fire-hot, the other ice-cold.
When something happens in this world, said the black cat.
It affects the other. Finished the white cat. But when something happens there,
It will affect here. The black cat said.
So when help is needed, the white cat purred.
Or a prayer sent out, countered the black cat.
A sign will be sent,
And you will receive it.
Our halfling Lords. The cats said in unision.
Then everything turned to darkness.
