A long time ago, Docksen roamed among us. There were several different variants of Docksen, all with unique abilities. Skyloric could soar above the clouds with their large wingspan. Nymthic were the ground dwellers, boasting 6 legs for speed and endurance. Fyrinic, a unique species living in the hottest of conditions, withstanding the flames they wore as a crown. And lastly, the species believed extinct early on. Agua Docksen.

Image
Though they are more of a 'Baseline' Docksen. Are in their own way, very unique. Ilban have a top speed of 70 mph, nearing that of a Cheetah. However, they are capable of withstanding this speed for a long period of time, making them an incredible speed machine. Ilban are often used for racing and can appear with or without horns depending on their gender unlike their other docksen counterparts. Ilban also have an incredible ability to produce young mirroring the docksen species they are bred with. For example, if bred to a skyloric, will produce a skyloric.

Image
Utilized for their strong wingspan, trainability and docile nature, Skyloric Docksen were the work horses of the sky. Soon outnumbered by man made machine, their commonality dwindled down to a critically endangered species. Though more common than the Agua, their breeding efforts have mostly been in vein until scientists were able to identify a new way to speed up their lengthy breeding process by increasing their odds of having twins by double!

Image
As much a myth as the lock ness monster, they disappeared after disease riddled the species. After finally re-appearing. The Agua Docksen have come back a little different. Their bodies have elongated, their horns have disappeared, and they no longer have a short furry tail. Agua can appear with or without fins! They've evolved into the beauty you see before you. A most elegant sea dweller indeed.

Perhaps, you and the other scientists can assist this critically endangered species with assisting our captivity efforts and breeding programs? With luck, we will encounter vast species of docksen and save their future!

Is currently unavailable. Once all species have been released, breeding will become available.
Hybrid breeding may be available pending variants.

Image
- Abide by the CS site rules
- If docksen are taken off site, please remember to link back to the species
- Customs will be unavailable for the moment

Image
- All line edits possible including but not limited to; Loss of fins, antlers, excessive fur, etc
- All natural colours are acceptable unless specifically a "lab rat". Read further for lab rat information.
- Agua docksen can appear with bright vibrant fins.
- Agua are most common as lab rats due to vast fish species and colourations possible.

Image
- Lab rats are considered genetically altered to have unique colouration meaning that they have unlimited colour possibilities. However, are rare to come by due to being monitored by the government and approved to modify one docksen a month for scientific purposes.
- When breeding a Lab rat, the chances of colour passing is only 25%

More information to come as we develop!

Coat Colours

Postby Oddly Shaded » Sun Oct 27, 2024 9:46 pm

Docksen have similar base coats to that of a horse, with slightly different names or slightly different appearances. Some canine colours, mice colours, and various different species have impacted the coat colours of Docksen. They also have developed their own genetic colourations.

Image

Image

Red

Similar to Chestnut, Docksens can appear in various shades of red. From a dark golden colour to near black; Example

Bay

Bay presents similarly to horses, but the black can be restricted to the smallest section of the animal, and not always its legs/face/tail. Sometimes Bay presents in opposite. Example

Black

Black base, but does not restrict minimal monochrome colour appearance on legs or face. Meaning the legs/face can have lighter colours appear; Example

Blue

Blue appears similarly to that of canines, from a light grey to darkish grey. This coat type can have a hint of blue but is never bright blue. Blue can also appear similarly to Bay with points and opposite points. Example | Example | Example

Image

Cream & Double Cream

A Dilution that caused the base coat to become a lighter colour. This affects all bases (unlike Smokey Black in horses) causing a golden version of the base coat. Double cream lightens the coat even further. 'Smokey Blacks' appear like a dark brown paper bag colour. Example available soon. Terms used in the equine world are not as commonly used with Docksen, but you may still see users refer to them as "Buckskin, Palomino" etc. Example | Example

Champagne

Appears exactly as in horses

Grey

The grey gene apears regularly in Docksen. This gene sometimes pairs with the 'Blue' gene for some very cool outcomes. Example

Roan

Roan causes a light dilution of body hair. Roaning can occur anywhere on the docksen body, from purely the tip of the tail, to the entire body. Roaning will almost always cause corn spots; Example

Image

Image

Striping

Distinct lines that can be broken, solid, filled in, jagged or smooth. The striping normally matches the coat type, but can occasionally be diverse ie; Red with Blue stripes would be considered very rare. Example | Example

Saddle Back

Saddleback restricts colour from the head/neck/shoulder and upper body to halway down the spine. Saddle back is only common in Agua, Skyloric and Ilban Docksen. Example | Example

Pinto

Pinto is the expression of white. In order to be considered 'Pinto' the Docksen must have white above all knees (excluding the face). This term is used broadly and white patterns are not specifically identified. Breeding two pintos together results in the Labratory seizing the animal for testing and so has been banned at present.

Palouse

Palouse produces various different spotting patterns. Spotting is not limited as it is with horses, spotting can occur in various places and as loudly or minimally as possible. Example

Pointed

Pointed or Pointing is similar to tan on dogs. This in Docksen can appear in any natural shade (including the coat colour blue). Pointed is generally seen on the face and legs, and sometimes the tail as well. Pointing can very rarely be expressed on the chest as well. Example
