the moon goddess, buwan, once was happily wed to the sun god, araw. their marriage at the dawn of time was quick to deteriorate, torn apart by their vanity over who was more beautiful, by bickering over who would own what length and breadth of the sky.

buwan sought to wage war against her now ex-husband, and to do so she molded children out of the very silver that composed her own flesh: these children took shape after the face of humankind and of wolfkind, the first generation of lifeforms the couple had birthed together. they were gifted with attributes of both: the intellect and resourcefulness of humans, and the strength and coordination of wolves.

she sent these children, the lycanthropes, out to storm the palace of araw, and he fought waves and waves of tooth and claw. despite their combined efforts, their numbers were not enough to triumph over the might of the sun itself, who simply cut them down with the celestial gold of his blade. soon he reached his former wife, and enraged, slew her, casting her body out to the dark void of what became the night sky, creating the moon as we now know it.

the surviving lycanthropes of buwan scattered across the land, left to travel and find purpose in a realm that did not take kindly to them. anywhere the light of day touched was unsafe - araw commanded all creatures of the light to hunt down and eliminate anyone with a trace of loyalty to the former moon god. to evade this, the lycanthropes found and settled in a new land - the land of endless night, where only the light of the moon could guide their sight.

how do i adopt?


• read through the rules of the species in the second post.
  
• you may request a founder for your pack using the form on the third post or you may adopt a pre-existing design as your founder.
  
• if applying for an adopt, look under the main page for lycanthropes that are up for adoption - this will be indicated by a colored background. if the background of a lycanthrope is white/transparent, then that lycan is already owned by someone else.
• if applying for an adopt, you may have to compete with other users for ownership of the adopt. the artist may set up a contest with a prompt of some kind to determine who will win an adopt, by an established end date or number of entries.

01. all cs rules apply. do not use the species in a way that violates cs rules.
02. i don't own the concept of werewolves, but i did create this art and lore. do not steal, copy or claim to own this species.
03. this is a closed species, so you may not make your own within this universe without an MYO (make-your-own/custom). these will be attainable in the future.
04. we reserve the right to restrict the abilities of or ban major rule breakers/repeat offenders. there is a possibility that adopts owned by banned members will be reclaimed by the species and readopted.
05. rules may be added or modified over time.
06. as of now, you may own up to ten adopts. adopt slots will be able to be increased in the future.

03. you do not need to own a lycanthrope to interact with the species, feel free to be part of the community regardless.

brief description: Atticus is dark, brooding and often quiet. He can seem intimidating, yet shows no hostility towards others unless necessary. He is rumored to have scars, And a shadow in the night. He roams the forest as he protects his pack. [You can make him however you'd like!!)
pack information: NightWalker Pack; The nighwalker pack is home to the dark woods. These werewolves seem docile at day, yet are not who they seem. These werewolves often travel in small groups. They protect one another and value pack members. If a pack member has fallen, the pack will mourn their fall and often hunt down who had caused the loss. The wolves of the NightWalker pack are dangerous and often intimidating at night- As if changing their persona altogether.
NightWalker werewolves often spend their time at 'The Den' a place carved in the middle of the forest they often stay in. The den is home to where the wolves would meet up for clan meetings. Nightwalker packs make it obvious of their territory, and whoever passes will deal with the leader himself. They do not show kindly to trespassers or other packs that could show threat.

Up in a cold conifer forest lays a single hut. There are no roads to this house, and nor is the windy walking track to it well worn. Only one creature lives there and thats the way she likes it. It is the perfect place for a pack to be set up. Plenty of free space for them to run free, and day after day of near dark and overcast. The one lycanthrope that lives in this place swears she is happy like this, alone and yet her soul howls to the moon for companionship, and a pack of her own to lead. (103/100)

brief description: A large gray with a big mane, Patterns akin to that of a possum, sharp yellowish teeth and scars lining his muscular frame with devilish yellow eyes that almost glow in the dark.

Amongst the deep dark swamp in a dark cavern beneath a great rock in a clearing inside the stone, dug by generations before them, there lay stones and leaves decorating the den with happy pups, and a large pack. above this cavern are murky waters, filled with large fish like bass, catfish, and the occasional gator. The trees swoop down with leaves that collect in vine-like formations, they weep as the wind flies through, forcing the tall grass and weeds around to dance and sway, giving the eerie dark swamp life alongside its furry monstrous friends. Nearby the swamp lives an old shed, destroyed and infested with vines and crows, it lays dormant but is sometimes visited by the lycanthropes nearby as a resting spot. (125/100)
