    atypical my beloved

question to the staff; is there any difference between solid black, black-based, and just black when writing the pheno? (like could this kiddo be written as solid black atypical merle rainfall as well?)
another question bc i forgot; aa/ee means that its all black/red right?

what a fun kiddo! for your questions -
on a Kb dog, solid black and black are the same thing. a black minimal white and a solid black minimal white would both be plain black dogs with minimal white, for example! black based is used to denote that a dog is a phenotypically a color other than black, but their genotype is black (for example, a recessive red or an eryth would be black based, but this dog would not)
aa is recessive black, and ee is recessive red! an aa dog will be solid black (or whatever their base color is), while an ee dog will be solid red (or whatever their C locus color is). an aa and ee dog will be recessive red, as the E locus overrides the A.
