no idea what to name these .. help with that would also be swag <3
- neck tufts can extend to protect the head/act as some form of hood. usually used to hide.
- tail mouth is used to carry young; it also carries spores within.
- they eat insects, using their tails to lure in flies with the sweet smell of the spores.
- mmmaybe different body types for ones that live in different areas?
- desert; buries in the sand; tail poses as a cactus?
- jungle; hangs up in trees, maybe uses pitcher plants
- swamp; has gills and very short fur; bladderwarts for plants maybe.
- tundra; very light colouration, very fluffy to mimic snow
- ofc, the plants don't need to be from the same reigion as their body type. commonly their tail mouth mimic plants, but very rarely they can be seen with non plant mimics.
- they are not plants, nor have any actual plant matter, they just commonly mimic local flora's colours.
- they may also mimic local fawna, like birds and smaller mammals. while i would not want to limit peoples desgns to these things,, neat lore tidbit but you can make these things bright neon <3
- sometimes they can me found wearing plants to help blend in when hunting. even more rarely, they can be found with plant growth across their body. those who have these live plants often trim the growth to make sure it does not grow out of control.
- their tail mouthes cannot be used to eat! they are just used for carrying prey or their young. they are more of an extra limb!
