Bonus fact: it is actually impossible to assume the base color of a horse once the graying process has begun. The way the graying disease attacks the pigment cause color shifts and hyperpigmentation. The only sure fire way to guess their base color is to see them in their first year, and, of course, color testing. Still fun to make the base color "match" with the grey in at
