- your favorite tv show goes to commercial. slumped in your seat, you hurriedly scroll through the other available channels.
"a new species has been recorded in & around the great lakes..."
you perk up a bit. well, that's interesting. you thought you've seen it all. you set your remote down, eyes glued to the television.
"strangely enough, these doglike creatures are amphibious, preferring a mixed, brackish environment to the low-salt waters they call home. some speculate they are a pre-evolution of the axolotl."
your brow furrows. really?
"this brings questions for many suspicious lakegoers- why so far inland? have they been here all along, or have they re-emerged from extinction?"
WHAT MAKES VAXELS SPECIAL?
their long, slender bodies & stocky limbs give them a surreal, almost cartoonish look.
they have fur similar to that of an otter. a 'spine' of thick, squishy skin goes down their back. the excess of this skin creates a long tail that is able to regenerate almost immediately, if injured. anywhere between 2-6 fleshy gills can emerge from the topside of their heads. they have large, webbed paws with pillowy pads. these are often docile creatures and pose no threat to humans. some lakegoers have begun to keep them as pets - but it must be noted that they need a constant water supply to keep their exposed skin hydrated.
