Trotters Bug Markings

    Chalkhill | Ck_ | Uncommon
Creates a white liner under the jaw, across the back and rump, and on the backs of all four legs. The white is outlined by black (similar to WDO effect).
Where does this marking go? Step 9* May go under white markings or over at artist discretion.
Mane/Tail? May or may not affect mane/tail color, if it does it will turn them white like other white markings do.
Min/Max Expression? Should not deviate much from this example. Lines may be thicker or thinner from horse to horse, but should still affect the same areas.
Breeding Traits? In CkCk + CkCk breedings (where both parents are homozygous for the marking) the white and black lines have a 25% chance to become inverted, creating a black marking with white outlines instead, similar to the effects of butterfly spots, choker, or leggings.

Brown Roach | Brn_ | Uncommon
Creates a dark brown dilution that affects the front half of the body and fades out into dapples before hitting the hipline. The dilution does not show around the eyes, ears, nostril, or lipline, creating a skull mask sort of outline. It must always have some dappling effect though this can be more or less stark from horse to horse. Can never be seen as black/near black, but the brown can vary from darker to lighter than the example shown.
Where does this marking go? Step 3: Dilutions B
Mane/Tail?: Must never effect the mane/tail color.
Min/Max Expression? Must affect the face and neck fully in the most minimal expression. Maximum expression can be seen across the full back but must not affect the rump or back legs at all.
Breeding Traits? When paired with ivory roach it should create a mid-toned olive-brown color, not just a lighter brown.

Ivory Roach | Ivr_ | Uncommon
Creates an ivory colored dilution that affects the front half of the body and fades out into dapples before hitting the hipline. The dilution does not show around the eyes, ears, nostril, or lipline, creating a skull mask sort of outline. It must always have some dappling effect though this can be more or less stark from horse to horse. Can never be seen as stark white or bright cream colors - ivory should have muted green/yellow hues.
When paired with brown roach it should create a mid-toned olive-brown color, not just a lighter brown.

    Saharan Grey | G_ | Common
Creates a striped greying pattern across the body. The stripes will always have feathered/faded edges and cannot be harsh/solid lines. The only sections it may not affect are the legs (anywhere below the knees). Stripes should always be more or less vertical, never horizontally, but may have some curves to them.
Where does this marking go? Step 10: Grey
Mane/Tail? May or may not affect mane/tail. This can created greyed out stripes in the mane or simply turn the full mane/tail grey.
Min/Max Expression? The most minimal expression must include at least four distinct stripes. This can leave large sections of the body unaffected, or affect large sections of the body. There is no max limit, as long as all stripes are soft/feathered/dappled out.
Breeding Traits? Shares a genome with other G_ greys and cannot be layered with them as such.

    Vulgare Spots | +Vulgare | Rare
Where does this marking go? Step 9: Over White Markings *May go under white markings or over at artist discretion.
Mane/Tail? May or may not create black streaks in the mane/tail if the spots touch the hairline.
Min/Max Expression? Minimal spotting can be as few as one or two with sizes as small as the eye. Max should not create spots larger than the hooves and should not completely cover the full body too drastically. Example image is near max expression.
Breeding Traits? Does not replace birdcatcher spots or any variation thereof, can be seen with both. Passing rate is the same as birdcatcher spots.

    Saddleback | Sdb_ | Common
A dilution that shifts the base coat to a paler mauve/taupe color, similar to the effect of isabella. The shape covers the face (minus a small spot on the forehead), creates a large saddle on the back, and covers the rump and all four legs. On very pale base coats this may turn a darker mauve/taupe shade rather than a lighter one as it will never turn stark white.
Where does this marking go? Step 2: Dilutions A
Mane/Tail? Should always turn the mane/tail a similar shade wherever the marking touchs (usually, the forelock and full tail).
Min/Max Expression? Much like surgeons coat this can shift shape a bit from the example image. Minimally it may only include a small portion of the face, a small saddle, coronet-like sections above the hooves, and just outline the rump. On rare occasions it may maximally show the face marking extending to the upper part of the neck, and the saddle may nearly touch the stomach, as well as merge with the rump and leg markings. Commonly however it should look as much like the example image as possible.
Breeding Traits? When layered with isabella it may create an even more opaque mauve/taupe tone where the marking overlaps (though it should not be an extremely bright/unnatural color.)
