Chicoon (Fall 2022)

Postby Buzz Aesthetic » Sat Oct 22, 2022 4:38 am

WELCOME
this event will run from October 27th through November 10th

transparent .... You've heard about a complex maze that showed up out of nowhere, and rumors have spread about it being the come to nightmare-ish creatures. Creatures with eyes on all sides of their head, mouths of pointed, bloodthirsty teeth... Creatures that will rip the flesh from bone and strut in someone else's skin like a costume. But these didn't seem to faze you, you are still here, staring at the entrance to the expansive labyrinth, curious to see if there is any truth to the rumors.
transparent .... You hear a faint whisper call your name "Welcome, are you here to test your will? If so, join us in the maze..."

Trait information...

Paragraph-indent Trait name: Parasite

Paragraph-indent Appearance: Limbs and body parts are replaced with a unique fur color compared to the chicoons design. The parasite needs to be clearly different from the chicoons pattern & fur color. Parasite limbs are required to have at least one eye or one mouth somewhere on the limb (that is visible on the reference) They can have multiple or many of both/either.

Paragraph-indent Advantages:
    • Parasites can cover multiple limbs
    • Parasites can be placed on or replace any limb or structure, but cannot cover the eyesocket, or the area of a chicoons skul that contains the brain.
    • Multiple parasite traits can be added to one chicoon
    • A Parasite needs to cover at least half of one limb/body part, any additional limbs/body parts do not have a size minimum
    • Parasite traits can modify the structure of a chicoon, allowing for false-hand edits, unique tail shapes, false-manes, and more. (note, these traits do not get added to the chicoons trait list, the trait is on the parasite, not the chicoon.
    • example image of where parasites can be as well as the separation of "limbs" for the minimum 50% coverage
    • Parasites can add, remove, or texturize fur to parasite-covered areas (this trait does not get added to the chicoons trait list.)
    • Can be placed on companions
    • Parasites can add limbs where there previously were not, add additional limbs, or replace limbs

Paragraph-indent Drawbacks:
    • Traits added to a parasite do not get added to a chicoon. (If a parasite-hand has claws, extra fingers, horns, etc etc, it does not get added to the chicoons trait list. if a parasite is shaped like a wing on the chicoons back, the chicoon does not get the additional wings or bigger wings trait.)
    • Only one parasite can be passed down per parent in the nursery (however multiple parasites can be added if multiple parents roll positive for the parasite trait.)
    • Parasites can not mimic fire, sparkles, particles, glow, magic/powers/abilities, animated trait, or flame halos. So bodyparts with parasites cannot have these traits.
    • Parasites cannot change the shape or color of a chicoons flame
    • Rarity tail stripes are still required on tail-based parasites
    • If a parasite is removed, it cannot be added to a different chicoon.
    • An eye, mouth, or both (many/multiple are fine!) are required for every individual parasite
    • A Parasite cannot be placed on another parasite. (a parasite on the torso, can not have a parasite shaped like a wing connected to it.) all parasites must be separated
    • a parasite cannot cover broken/split areas (this trait does not refer to scars/wounds)
    • a parasite can not add or subtract from a chicoons leg height, neck height, muzzle length, or torso length.

Lore related wrote:Although this trait is titled "Parasite" the creatures that seem to be attached to the chicoons and companions we have been finding in this maze do not seem to have any drawbacks from being a host. In fact, chicoons with the creatures seem to have a higher strength, better eyesight, faster problem-solving skills, and are more durable! Parasites can even grow new limbs from previously missing ones, an ability that would surely be of use for chicoons who had limbs removed due to injury in the past!

Parasites have their own mindset and personality, although the chicoon has full control over the limbs and structures the parasites make. Parasites can 'speak' to a chicoon via host-telepathy, each parasite may have its own voice in the chicoons mind as well! A Parasite connected to one chicoon cannot communicate with a different chicoon, or a different parasite.
A parasite can be removed from a chicoon fairly easily, however generally a chicoon will defend their new limb. So far every parasite that has removed itself from a host has survived as long as it finds another host to be on (we have found an air-tight container seems to also be alright!)
