Cowboys is a Fox Survival ARPG, where you can Venture around, Fight, Survive, Claim Land, and Maybe even make some friends along your journey. You might also gain some new additions to your Skulk! In this "Survival of The West" game you can make your own Skulk and develop the characters within your Skulk, you may adopt as many foxes as you'd like no limit is set, you get to choose where your Skulk is set to live and thrive or even have a wandering Skulk, you get to pick what your Foxes eat, how they interact, and the most important of all: "Survive The West"... Please remember this is supposed to be fun so if you don't want the chance of "losing" a fox while venturing there is a way to prevent it!

Staff Rules
→ Guest Artist
- Are temporarily hired for the span of one month
↳ If a permanent artist slot opens up, previous guest artists may try out for that position.
- At the beginning of the given month a guest artist will receive one UC MYO
- You MUST have the foxes approved by Myself before posting
- Anything from UC and below is okay to make as a guest artist
- Guest artists may claim founders, open nursery and custom slots, and most of all make adopts!
- Foxes fur colors should be mostly realistic and should follow the fur patterns guide
↳ A minimum of 25c$ or equivalent is required for prices (if chosen to add prices to adopts or slots, founders are free so you can't put a price on them when claimed)
↳ Will be required to post all growths of any cub adopts/litter cubs posted
- Guest artists must complete all possible work within the guest artist terms
↳ If anything occurs that opposes you from completing your work, please contact me and we can try to work something out!
↳ Foxes that are required to be grown from a competition or event that ended are still to be judged/grown by you even after you've left the staff team

Rules & Guidelines
General Rules:
1. Please follow any and all CS rules.
2. Be kind and respectful to others and staff members!
3. No pestering staff to; finish adopts, judge competitions,
reply to venture posts, open nursery/custom slots, etc. Staff
members have a real life as well that they need to attend to!
Cowboy work may take some time as well so keep that in mind.
4. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, or any form of anything
like that, please PM me (Spooks) if you have any concern that this
policy is being broken or even if you'd like to privately speak about
someone's behavior. I am currently only available on CS to chat.

Game Rules:
1. Go wild on how many foxes you own! there is no given limit!
2. You must have an archive within 31 days of receiving your founder,
it will be readopted if you don't.
3. Go ahead and make your own lore, it doesn't have to be the Cowboys
style lore at all, custom everything is okay. It's up to you so go wild!
4. Magical or fantasy characteristics like wings are allowed in stories
but not in actual Cowboys references.
5. One skulk per user please.
6. If a user gets banned or deleted their account any foxes they own
will be readopted, unless the user contacts Spooks via CS PMs. Any MYOs
or customs the user had will be considered as unusable unless GIFTED
away within 31 days of being banned (this doesn't work if you delete your
account), Deleted accounts means deleted everything (besides foxes)
7. Founders may not be requested until user's profile is 2+ months old
and has posted at least 54 times.
8. All players should remain respectful at all times especially if: disability,
race, ethnicity, age, nationality, cultural, religion, gender, identity, mental
health, or sexual orientation is brought up in a topic, conversations, or lore.

Guide To Starting
1. To redeem your founder post the form below! You may only receive one
founder so please only post this form once, go ahead and request one UC
modification or 2 common modifications and unlimited NR modifications.
Our modifications list is located here.
2. Create your skulks thread and name, using this topic board, using your own
website, toyhou.se, etc. As long as it is all CS appropriate!
3. While your waiting for your founder to be finished, you are welcome
to try out for adopts, or buy customs.
4. Once your requested founder is finished make sure not to forget to
post your archive link on that founders page within 31 days or it will
be readopted.
5. If you have at least one fox (doesn't have to be your founder) you
are free to go Venturing or check the Expeditions Board for stuff to do!
6. If you have any questions feel free to post them here or PM me (Spooks)
I am always willing to answer questions and so is staff, so if you'd like a
staff member to respond, just post on this page!

Venturing / Ranging
To start venturing head over to the venture thread and fill out the form provided. Changing the format is okay but please make sure all original elements are still clearly visible. You can send up to 5 foxes to venture at the same time, other foxes may be mentioned in your writing but should not be linked in the "Foxes on Patrol" section (additional foxes included in writing will not count towards rolls or anything of the sorts). Cubs should also not be linked in that section but may be included in writing (cubs are considered to young to venture). You can write about anything but should end with or connect to a range as Reporters will have to roll for anything found during venture.

When you begin in venture none of your foxes will gain any hunger for at least 4 posts they also won't encounter anything dangerous, have any issues with territories, gain any sicknesses, or get injured for these first 4 posts. This gives your foxes times to gather any supplies they will need to "Survive The West". the first 4 hunger/danger free posts are per user!

After writing and posting your venture, you will have to wait for a reporter to reply to your post before writing and posting another one. Good quality replies do take time to write (up to a week), so please I ask of you to be patient. No forms will ever get skipped, we just will have different reporters claiming posts and will take some time, some reporters might finish responses faster than others.

While venturing there is different chances to find different things like: food, friendly critters, other foxes, lost items, crops, fruit, and sometimes NPCs wandering around themselves. Though you have to remember this is a survival game, foxes may fight with other animals, get sick, receive random injuries, or even die (there is n option where you won't have the chance to die in venture). Foxes will not die while venturing if you choose to not risk being put down in the "Bone Orchard" (death)! Everything done in venture will earn experience points which help when leveling up to earn cool rewards!

Expeditions
Expeditions are another helpful way to earn experience and develop the foxes in your skulk. By drawing and writing to various prompts provided posted on the expeditions board. Expedition prompts vary from something as simple as your skulk leader's favorite food to something as in-depth as your skulks ancient history!

Prompts get updated every 31 days, the more effort you put in the more experience you will receive! To have this earned experience added to your experience set link it in the "Notes" section on the venture form. Each prompt will have a couple winners chosen, who will receive cool prizes!


Levels
To level up you will need experience points by venturing, doing expedition prompts, or even sometimes events. For every venture post posted you will receive +10 EXP and additional experience points for writing, things that happened during venture (such as fights), finding food/crops, etc. For every level you gain you will receive a reward!

EXP does not stack to the next level, an example being: if a user had 162 EXP they would level up to level 2 and only have 62 EXP left over.

Every user starts at Level Zero!

Getting New Additions
To gain new foxes for your skulk, you may participate in adopt competitions, breed your foxes, or even purchase a Custom/MYO ticket. Sometimes a rare occurrence may happen and you'll find an MYO (different levels of MYOs) in venture or even earn them as prizes during events or during expeditions.

When adopting via competitions, check out the foxes color-me-in page, if there is an "Adopt Me ♡" sign on the drawing they might still be available for adoption! Make sure to check the end date though, some contest may have already ended but haven't been updated yet.

When purchasing a custom, you'll need to wait until an artist had opened up their slots. Read more about customs here. To purchase an MYO ticket (Make Your Own) visit the "MYO Items" section of the shop. To use an MYO ticket visit the MYO zone.

Another way to gain more foxes is by breeding! You can visit the nursery. If you don't have 2 foxes yet, you can use the nursery NPCs, though you must wait until an artist has opened their slots.


Aging
Cubs will grow to adults 3 weeks after being posted.

When it has been 3 weeks after your cubs were posted and the artist hasn't posted their growths after 24 hours on the growth date you can bump the page to remind the artist to post the growths, some artists won't need reminders but others might. After bumping the page you have to wait 24 hours again, If there is no response with that second 24 hours and the Artist who did your breeding hasn't grown your cubs yet contact Me (Spooks) and I will get in contact with them ASAP to get the growth finished!

If you'd like to skip the 3 week waiting period, there is an item called "Cowboy Talk Book" in the shop which can be used once to grow a single cub into an adult.


Runner Ups
Runner Ups aka RUs are given out when an artist has a hard time choosing a single winner when hosting a competition, RUs are foxes that resembles the main competition fox that a user or users given the RU(s) gets to keeps.

- Colored Sclera (can be any color and amount of colors just as long as it is still the sclera! doesn't fall under heterochromia modification as it is not the iris being modified)

- Ear Placement (should only be rotated)
- Minimal Fur Edits (slightly fuzzier/fluffier and nothing to extreme)

- Un-natural Eye Color (Reds, Pinks, Purples, White, Grays/Silvers, and Black are all considered un-natural)

Customs

- Customs are custom foxes that do not use an MYO ticket and can only be purchased from artists. Forms are only to be posted if an artist has posted that they have opened slots. DO NOT PM and artist asking if they have open slots or post a form when there is not artist with open slots.

- Customs will automatically be common and below but artists may add the option to add above common traits (artists may choose to charge extra for the addition of above common traits), though you must own the required items in order to use them when ordering. (EX: I want to add an Uncommon trait but I don't have the item, so I can not order an Uncommon trait added.)

- You can find each artist's custom prices and information [url=xxx]here[/url]! Customs are required to cost at least a minimum of 25c$, though they may cost more depending on the artist. Refunds are only excepted for 7 day after the creation of the fox and are not to be excepted after that period of time. PM with any issues or concerns with an order you have placed.

- Custom Types: Random (Completely chosen by artist), Semi (Base color and one common trait chosen by user), or Full (Everything chosen by user).

Transfers
- Transfers occur when players trade with other players. Players may only trade a fox or foxes after owning them for at least 31 days. Details for what you can and cannot trade Cowboys foxes, items, and Baked Beans for can be found in the trading section of the archives! The ownership change form will need to be filled out after the trading of a fox.

To trade your fox(es)/item(s)/or Baked Beans, fill out the trading form on the archive thread, thank you.

Gifting
- Gifting occurs when players trade their fox(es)/items/or Baked Beans with other players without receiving anything in return. There is no ownership cool-down after gifting. Giveaways or readopts hosted on CS will still need to be posted on the archives with the specific form. Use the correct forms for everything please or it will get confusing! The ownership change form will need to be filled out after the gifting of a fox.

Selling
- Selling occurs when players post the form saying that they are selling their fox(es)/items/or Baked Beans on the advertisements section of the Fanclub. The ownership change form will need to be filled out after the selling of a fox.

Q: If I haven't received my founder yet, what can I do?
A: If you haven't gotten your founder yet no need to worry! You can go ahead and try out for adopts, purchase items/MYO tickets, apply for customs (if slots are open), If you happen to get another fox while waiting for your founder you may venture with them or even breed them with an NPC to get a litter of cubs!

Q: I don't like my founder I got, what do I do?
A: You can readopt your founder if you don't happen to like them, though second founders are not allowed. Some artists may allowed changes to be made within 31 days of the creation of your founder, though you may not request any changes beyond what the founder form allows or past 31 days of the creation of the fox.
