Alpenglow Buffalo are treasured bovine raised in alpine regions. Like yaks, they are prized for milk production and their strength as a working or pack animal. They are not raised for meat, and their soft coat is groomed and harvested humanely for use in home accessories and clothing. These "Moos" are well-loved and respected by their caretakers, and generally return the sentiments.

General Rules

- If a user is banned from either CS or the species, they retain ownership of the character.
- Always credit the artist and designer appropriately
- Maintain a record for your herd somewhere, somehow (a thread, toyhouse, etc).
- Do not edit original references or change the character's design/species.

Horn jewelry design may be changed, but not on the original reference.

Sales/Trades

- Sales/trades/transfers may only be done on CS for CS currency (pets or C$), art, other Alpenglow Buffaloes, or other characters
- Sales/trades/transfers to other CS users are allowed by species rules, but the artists may decide to limit sales/trades on individual characters. This will be listed on the adoptable's thread when they are posted. Please take note of this!
- For sale/trade/transfer to be considered complete, both the old owner and the new owner must post on the character's thread stating that the sale/trade/transfer occurred.
- You must own the Alpenglow Buffalo for one month before selling/trading/transferring

Species Information

Alpenglow buffaloes are in the family Bovidae, comparable to the American bison in height and weight. They have thick, wooly hair which keeps them warm in their alpine environments. This hair can be humanely collected for use in crafting. They are very strong, and make excellent pack animals. Alpenglow buffaloes are also prized for their milk production, which is used like traditional dairy.

Their horns grow continuously throughout their life. They are fitted with jewelry as they age, as soon as their horns are long and strong enough. The number of cuffs/beads may change over the buffalo's life, but the color/material typically does not unless they undergo significant change. It is rare that a tame buffalo does not have jewelry.

Age of Maturity: 6 years
Lifespan: 25-30 years

Color

Alpenglow buffaloes come in natural colors and patterns seen in livestock (horses, cows, goats, etc). All white buffaloes, such as the one on the cover, are very rare and highly prized as they are believed to be a sign of good fortune for the land on which they're born.

They can have any eye color.

Genetics

Alpenglow buffalo genetics have not been studied and will likely not be defined.
