Backstory -
Let me tell you a story, a story of siblings who gained great power after great tragedy.
A long time ago, back near when Storkatten first started appearing, there was a colony. It wasn't particularly special, there were many others like it as Storkattens started to multiple. But this colony was where two special Storkats were born, twin blood magic users, Hex and Sana. The two grew up happy and healthy, sheltered from the dangers of the world, till one day tragedy struck.
Rumors of war had been circulating. Storkatten magic was pure and powerful in these ancient times, and led some to become hungry for power or resources. And one peaceful, fateful day, The colony of these twins was attacked. With powerful Storkatten magic being used everywhere, it was complete chaos. Still only teenages, their mother helped the twins flee the battlefield, in hopes they could escape be reunited in the future. But just when they thought they had escaped all evil, a powerful fire wielding Storkatten confronted them. Their mother tried her best to take him down, but was no match against their foe, and died protecting her kits. Although wounded, the fire Storkat planned to finish what he started, and turned next to the twins who were huddled in a corner, staring in horror and agony at their dead mother.
Nex turned to look at the fire Storkat slowly approaching and felt his blood boil. This... creature, just killed his mother, and now wished to harm him and his sister. he felt his fur prickle as hatred coursed through him. However before he could decide what to do with his emotions, he saw his sister slow walk over to their dead mother. The fire Storkat was at first started, as Sana was completely ignoring him and the threat he posed for the two young Storkats, but quickly gathered his wits, and decided to take her out first, pounced. Now engulfed in anger and protectiveness for his sister, Nex charged at the fire Storkat, knocking him away from his sister. It at first appeared a very unfair fight, with the fire Storkat being both bigger and able to use magic, but Nex's fury paired with the wound already inflicted on the fire Storkat soon had him quickly losing the fight.
"Wait", the gentle voice of his sister made him pause. "Please, no more death", she pleaded, stepping toward her brother. "This isn't you, let us just keep running away." Nex growled as he stepped over to her, "He should pay for what he's done! If I could use my magic, I'd make it so his blood just dissipates!" "If I could use my magic," Sana shouted back, getting nose to nose with her twin brother, "I would make it so mother was still alive!"
Before another word could be said, a great light and blast shook the forest when the twins touched noses. Nex stood up, now yards away from his sister, who he swore appeared to have an almost aqua glow to her. A movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention,and he looked just in time to see the Fire Storkat run off into the forest. Feeling a new strange power in him, Nex raced off after the murderer, the desire to finished their fight from earlier overwhelming all other thoughts.
The siblings were never to meet again, and legend says that they still roam the land today, blessed, or perhaps curced, with immortality. It's believed that Nex, the twin gifted with the first Poison magic, became a feared tyrant for many years, before mellowing out and living now as a hermit. They say he has become the most empathetic Storkat in the world, despite his damaging magic. It's believed that his sister Sana, the twin gifted with the first Healing magic, wondered the world for many years, jumping from colony to colony, looking for her dear brother. it's said that while at first he cared very deeply for the wellbeing of those around her, the longer she lived the less she cared about others. Many believe that the two are cursed to never meet, as their magic repels the other. Despite all that, the two are always looking for each other, hoping that one day, they can reconcile and heal their scars.
