welcome to the world of UKIYO! a world filled with magical power. Ukiyo is an ARPG based on one of my (kiffell) own character worlds, since I adore this world I thought I'd bring it to the public in ARPG style. Ukiyo is highly based on world and character development to encourage users to develop their new OCs rather than letting them sit in the dark.

we strive to be a welcoming community with few, yet enforcing, rules. basically, this is just a fun place to get some new magical creature ocs and develop them!

a common question: what type of species is UKIYO exactly?
to answer this, UKIYO doesn't have a set species! OCs in UKIYO can be any real life animal, the most common being mammals. these animals can be hybrids, have wings, horns, fins, cool tails or even just normal! remember to look at the trait guide to see what these creatures can have! you are free to take a look at the characters within my personal ukiyo world to get an idea :]

while creatures in the ukiyo world can be just about any species, there are certain traits and magic that are more scarce than others.

types of magic:
caster magic: magic that comes from the users body
holder magic: magic that comes from an external object [ex. wand, staff]
enchantment magic: magic in which the user can enchant objects to their wants and needs
morph soul magic: magic in which the user has a second form that enhances their magical powers [only compatible with elemental magics] (ex. demon form, dragon form, mer-form)

common magic: caster and holder magic
rare magic: enchantment magic and morph soul magic

milestone level traits [these traits will ONLY be used for milestone level adopts. ANYTHING NOT HERE MAY BE USED FOR NORMAL ADOPTS]

main rules

-ukiyo is a CUSTOM LINED ADOPT ARPG. there are NO base lines
-please be kind to everyone and all staff at all times
-negativity and harassment of any kind will not be tolerated
-art/writing must be cs appropriate
-always remember to give credit to the artists for their designs
-do not alter designs in anyway [giving scars + items is OK]
-you are expected to keep track of your OWN levels and characters. there is no character archive
-artists must add users to their won characters
-you may only have ONE guild
-your guild may only contain official UKIYO characters
-you may use npcs, but they may not be your main focus
-you MUST have a thread/site/storage for your guild
-do not repost founder forms

-you may only have ONE founder. if it gets rehomed you may NOT redeem another
-if you don’t make a thread + claim your founder within a month it’ll be rehomed
-you may make ONE custom a month, customs reset on the first
-transferring characters into UKIYO is allowed
-if you are banned from UKIYO/CS you are ONLY allowed to keep OCs you have PAID for

-all other OCs that were free WILL be rehomed
-your kept OCs will be marked deceased
-you may use UKIYO OCs outside of UKIYO
-you may breed UKIYO OCs outside of UKIYO but their offspring CANNOT be official unless you make them a MYO
-rules may be changed in the future

transferring OC rules

-UKIYO characters MAY be sold ONLY IF:

they have been bought
they have AT LEAST 5 pieces of COLORED art
you get PERMISSION from the original artist
-UKIYO characters MAY be traded
-you MAY trade your OCs for other UKIYO OCs
-you MAY trade your OCs for NON UKIYO OCs
-you MAY ONLY trade/sell UKIYO OCs to people WITHIN UKIYO [subject to change]
-UKIYO characters MAY be gifted
-nursery characters may ONLY be gifted right away

-you MUST wait at least a month to trade/sell them
-there is a TWO MONTH cooldown between the first adoption and every time there is a new owner [two month transfer cooldown]

staff rules

-artists may make:

1 custom for themself every 3 months
1 custom upon hire
a special milestone level birthday custom [confirmed with kiffell]
adopts, founders, milestones
-guest artists may make:

1 custom upon hire
ADOPTS ONLY
-artists are expected to:

-be active
-will be removed if inactive without communicating with kiffell
-make quality designs
-judge competitions fairly and within a 1 month manner
-add items/scars to designs at will
-take nursery orders
-decide if they WANT to draw both baby/adult lines
-artists are allowed to just draw adult lines if wanted
-finish breedings in a timely matter
-make up to 3 PAID adopts a month [auctions, OTAs, paid raffles. can be for other currency but must at LEAST have one kind of CS friendly option]
-discuss giving out honorable mention points and runner-ups with kiffell
-let kiffell know if they want to make a milestone adopt

artists should NOT
-ask for payment for breedings
-post breedings WITHOUT having the adult complete [if applicable]
-give an HM/RU without discussing

-you may only get ONE founder
-founders may be redeemed by form OR adoption
-you may request scars/items/specific animals/etc for your founder
-you may be as specific as you want with your founder
-to get your free founder, fill out the form below

making your thread:

-your thread can be set up however you see fit
-remember not to store them in the RP character storage form
-you can make a guild storage onsite or offsite

leveling up:

-you start at level 0
-once you make your thread and get your founder, you can level up to level 1
-you level up and grow your guild by completing level up tasks below
-remember to post on the LEVEL UP archive whenever you complete a level
-you will be contacted if your level up does not meet the requirements

level up tasks:

-each task must be completed before you can get to the next level.
-there are no limits to guild ranks besides 1 guild master
-guild ranks may be anything that you wish, most common may include wizard, high ranking wizard, second in command, healer
-drawn scenes must at least be flat colored with a background
-characters should be recognizable
-written scenes should be at least 200 words
-character art should be at least a flat colored headshot

-describe a rank in your guild [100+ words]

-give one of your guild members a personality or history [200+ words]

level 4 [10 OCs total]

-describe how members of your guild make a living (do they do job requests? do they have a restaurant?) [200+ words]
-describe a guild tradition
-give one of your guild members a personality or history [200+ words]

level 5 [15 OCs total]

-write/draw a scene about a guild meeting
-write/draw a scene about a magic battle
-give one of your guild members a personality or history [200+ words]

level 6+ [for every level you may have 5 more OCs]

-write or draw a scene of your choice
-get two pieces of art of any of your guild OCs [can be different OCs]
-give two of your guild members a personality or history [200+ words]
-pick one of the following scenes:

flesh out a part of the guild that hasn’t been described yet
describe a relationship between two guild mates
write/draw a sad time for your guild
write/draw a happy time for your guild
write/draw your guild members going on a quest
write/draw your guild facing a threat
write a detailed history of your guild [can only be done once]
write/draw a guild celebration
write/draw your guild wizards interacting with towns people
