The small country lives in eternal night, there is day but even the days are dark- the sunlight muted by a magical force blocking out its light. The crystals that grow like weeds across the country (That is made up of a mix of fields and mild forests) capture the light of the moon and make the night brighter than the daytime as a result, so all of the citizens are awake and work at night instead of the traditional 'day' (Which does make trade/travel/interactions with other countries a bit more difficult)

It's large buds never actually bloom, as they absorb and contain light. If harvested, these are edible. They act as a solid food staple for the country since they can grow so well in low light areas
4. Local pest flying-weasel-squirrels. I call them beebins. They eat everything. They're basically rats with wings
5. Starstrawberries, commonplace fruit growing in the locale, often food for beebins. They're a bit sweeter than a normal strawberry but rot much faster, making catching them at the perfect time more difficult
