Born in a tiny village on the outskirts of civilization, Sachi's childhood was mostly quiet and uneventful. Often he'd wake up late, go down to the wood cutting mill, and spend the day feeding logs through the saw's tray. His father, and his father's father, and so on and so forth, all ran the same mill, the home he grew up in nearly as old as the village itself. He didn't take much seriously, and when it came to his own job he often found himself lazing around, the mill doing most of his job for him.
One morning, he'd slept in as he normally did, and when he opened the door to the outside he found his village set ablaze, the people he'd known all of his life suddenly gone. Red stained the ground where the raiders had attacked the townsfolk, and harsh, crimson flags hung from poles stabbed into the ground all around the village, a strange symbol visible on every one of them. The colors burned into his mind, and the symbol became something important to him, something he could never forget. It took Sachi an eternity to process it all, the initial shock setting him into a spiral that made every minute feel like hours, every hour feel like days, weeks, months. When he finally managed to put himself together enough to get going, he started with burying the fallen, swearing to himself that he would seek vengeance, that he would never let this happen again.
