Not only does it help show teeth alignment, but it also shows jaw alignment too! Drawing open mouths will always be a struggle for me, so I often refer to skulls to make sure I get the teeth and jaw right.

Often times, people will draw their characters with the upper canine in front of the lower canine, but if you look at a carnivore skull you will see that it's not the case.
