What is a Haunted Light?
Haunted Lights are fire spirits that appear after a fire is put out, where they wander the earth spreading fire magic and keeping the world lit. Haunted lights diets are omnivorous but mostly contain any type of kindling and their size can range from a domesticated cat to a Siberian tiger.
The anatomy of a Haunted light is slender and long optimized for running and climbing, they're also very lightweight regardless of their size! They use their strong forelimbs and sometimes their prehensile tail to climb tall trees and mountains, but the most interesting part of their anatomy is the large glass orb that either hovers over their tail, Is held in the tail, or It is held in a lights arms close to their chest. This Is as a lights spirit or soul, they are very protective of this orb because it is either is filled with magic or some other lifeblood important to the Light. If this orb is taken away or shattered the Light will die by it's entire body being engulfed in flame leaving nothing but it's set of horns and the orb or whatever is left of it.
Haunted lights main habitats are almost anywhere a fire can sustain itself,(polar Lights are a sub species that are under research!) But they appear in forests and prairies and they live there with minimal wildfires (mostly caused by careless playfighting)
Haunted lights usually live in packs either called a Haunting or a Wildfire, but due to the use of fire by humans, Haunted lights are partially domesticated and a wild Light is a rare sight, pet lights are seen as status symbols due to their continuous upkeep and playful but dangerous nature. Smaller towns and cities usually have 3-4 Haunted lights for helping out(they're favored by blacksmiths and bakers), but more industrial cities have contests akin to dog shows to show off their Haunted lights
