Squishpuppies are a species of semi-aquatic euplerids most closely related to the Malagasy Civet (Also know as the fanaloka or jabady), although they have many differences, such as their longer necks and fluid-filled shark tails. These tails function similarly to a camels hump, storing nutrients and water. This allows them to stay on land for extended periods of time. Despite what the name suggests, squishpuppies are not canines, but actually get the name from shark pups. Their tails are most often in the shape of a shark's. Squishpuppies are genetically sexless, but individuals may exhibit masculine or feminine traits. Squishpuppies are often very friendly and tame in temperament. They have been know to guide lost people out of shipwrecks. They often hang out in packs around coral reefs. Although originating in the ocean, many squishpuppies also inhabit freshwater rivers and lakes. They are a widespread species.

❖ Lore ❖
The first Squishpuppy was a large and powerful creature known as The Whalemother. She had the tail of a whale shark, many strong limbs, and inky black eyes. She was compassionate and cared for all the fish and creatures of the sea. But there was no other like her, she was lonely. One day she selected a beautiful sea shell and used her magic to give it life, creating a Squishpuppy. She raised and nurtured him, taught him the ways of the ocean. Finally she had a friend. She was happy but eventually she realized he wanted more. She had to set him free. Let him make his own choices. She made him more brothers, sisters, and set them across the oceans, taught them her life magic. They could go off and live their own lives, make their own friends, form families, and discover their own adventures.

Since squishpuppies are sexless, all of their offspring are created with their life magic. They take an empty vessel, usually a seashell or other organic structure no longer in use, and parent(s) life magic is pooled together, creating a new squishpup that resembles the parent(s) physical traits and appearance.

❖ Rules ❖

General rules;
- Squishpuppies are a closed species, you may not make one without a MYO slot
- Squishpuppies cannot be sold and can only be traded for other squishpuppies or squishpuppy MYOS.
- Squishpuppies cannot be co-owned.
- Do not harass other users in the squishpuppies community.
- Do not do anything illegal or immoral.
- Squishpuppies work on a 3 strikes system, although you can be banned without strikes.
- Squishpuppies staff reserves the right to take squishpuppies back in the event the user is banned.
- Banned users can no longer adopt, breed, or trade squishpuppies.
- Bans may be appealed to Chickpea for reconsideration, especially after a long time period.
- Be nice no crime.
- Bans can be issued for off-site issues if they relate to Squishpuppies or are severe enough.

Design rules;
- Any way a squishpuppy physically deviates from the standard of the species, aside from color, is considered a trait.
- You cannot make edits to the squishpuppy's design without an item (aside from expression edits and accessories)
- No complete joke or meme designs.
- Do not make designs too similar to copyrighted characters or other users characters.
- Squishpuppies may be Off-Base with Anatomy Accuracy Approval from Chickpea

Trading;

- Trades must be clearly agreed on by both parties.
- To be official, a trading form must be posted on the archive update thread.
- You must own a squishpuppy one week before trading them.
- You may trade twice in one calendar month.
- Any amount of squishpuppies may be traded in one trade, provided they are all owned by the two participating users.
- At this time, only trades with two users total are allowed (no three way swaps).

MYOs
- To be official, MYO designs must be approved by a staff member.
- Off-oekaki MYOs must be posted on the archive update thread once approved.

Breeding;
- The breeding system has not been created yet.

Artists;
- Artists will get a Tier 2 myo slot for every month of activity.
- Artists can sell up to 50% of their adopts for c$.
- Artists can give out runner up designs or honorable mentions.
- Off-base adopts must be approved by Chickpea before posting to ensure accuracy.
- If adopts are not judged promptly, another staff may step in.
