Bear Point Walkers are a gaited breed established in the Bear Point area of Western Oregon. Since they were already established and thriving in the PNW's wet, chilly environment they were easily transformed into the perfect trail horse from the coast to the Cascades.
The Bear Point Walker is easily recognized by their "B Point" brand on their left thigh. These horses also stand out with their flashy gait: similar to that of the Tennessee Walking Horse, Bear Point Walkers' fifth gait is a running walk that is incredibly smooth and comfortable. They make for exceptionally great trail horses for comfort, ruggedness, and have a pleasant, willing dispositions. Due to their wild heritage BPWs have also been found in almost every horse color.
