Most of earth's creatures were eradicated after a pollutant that in large doses killed life, but in smaller doses, unlocked hidden mutations to an animals genes. The pollutant is long gone now, but life is forever changed on the planet and is still changing and morphing.

There was the seven islands of our peoples homeland. Seven micro biomes all with their unique fauna and flora. We had lived on those islands for generations, happily spending our years on the mortal plain. As time has gone by overpopulation on our home land has became an issue and the weaker smaller colonies and loners have been driven off towards ocean, to travel to new land across the horizon.

The land they've discovered ranges from perfectly normal, reminiscent of earths past, to wild and phantasmal, out of a fairy tale book. Where will your colony settle?

RULES

      As always; chicken smoothie rules apply.
      Evolve's Hyleifs are a closed species, you may only create one if you are an artist or guest artist.
      Be kind and open-minded. Hate or harassment will result in being banned from Evolve.
      Please treat others with respect.
      You may not edit the lines, alignment, or colours of Hyleifs you own- you may however earn changes to lines.
      Give credit to the artists for the design.
      You won't be added to the original image
      I will change the rules when If I deem it necessary.



STAFF RULES

    Artists should:
      Be active and produce good designs.
      Post a design atleast once every month.
      Make all adopts on the oekaki canvas.
      Add horns and wings at will.
      Ask for payment for customs.
      Open up to 4 custom slots at a time, as often as they like.
      Complete orders in a timely manner.
      Judge competitions within a month or arrange for someone else to judge their adopts.

    Artists should not:
      Take payment for breedings, growths or earnt adjustments to characters.
      Open customs before completing previous commissions.
      Leave competitions unjudged for more than a month.

    Guest artists are allowed to make:
      Adoptables only.
      One custom with a small line edit for themselves.

    Artists are allowed to make:
      Adoptables, breedings, and paid customs for others.
      A custom with a small line edit upon hiring.
      One personal custom a month provided they have done 3 designs for the community.
      A unique birthday custom provided they are active.

    BIOLOGY
      Species is called Hyleifs.
      Children called Kips or Kippens.
      Multiple genders.
      Born with wings.
      Cat like in appearance
      Have the ability to use magic they are aligned with.
      Are occasionally born with horns.

    GENDER CLASSES
      Female classes [ Typically smaller ]
        Damae [Male presenting - female breeding]
        Dafae [Female presenting - female breeding]

      Male Classes [ Typically larger ]
        Samae [Male presenting - male breeding]
        Safae [Female presenting - male breeding]

      Can be Non-Quaternary [non binary] and trans

    Founders [Alphas] [Fi- prefix in front of genders]
      - Stronger versions of the default classes.
      - more prominent elemental abilities.
      - can have unnatural eye colours
      - are born with glowing markings
      - are typically respected by non Fi's because of their natural abilities

    ALLIGNMENT
    Basic- Earth, Water, Air, Fire
      Earth: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate earth. Fi's are capable of full earth bending, where as normal earth aligned hyleifs are only capable of moving rocks and shifting earth about the size of themself or smaller. All earth hyleifs can sense the vibrations in the earth below and can use it to track prey or enemies.

      Water: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate water. Fi's are capable of full water bending, where as normal water aligned hyleifs are only capable of manipulating water about the size of themself or smaller. All water hyleifs are capable of breathing under water and swimming unusually fast.

      Air: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate air. Fi's are capable of full air bending, where as normal air aligned hyleifs are only capable of manipulating air in one minute bursts. All air hyleifs are capable of [undecided].

      Fire: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate fire. Fi's are capable of full fire bending, where as normal fire aligned hyleifs are only capable of manipulating fire about twice the size of themself or smaller. All fire hyleifs are capable of creating fire.
    Intermediate: Electric, Ice, Crystal
      Electric: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate electricity. Fi's are capable of complete electrokinesis, where as normal electric aligned hyleifs are only capable of manipulating air in one minute bursts. All electric hyleifs are immune to electricity and generate an electric charge over time [they also attract lightning].

      Ice: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate Ice. Fi's are capable of complete cryokinesis, where as normal ice aligned hyleifs are only capable of manipulating ice about twice the size of themself or smaller. All ice hyleifs are capable of lowering the temperature around them [10 meters] until the ground starts to frost.

      Crystal: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate crystals. Fi's are capable of complete crystallokinesis, where as normal electric aligned hyleifs are only capable of moving crystals and shifting earth about the size of themself or smaller. All crystal hyleifs can turn earth into crystals at a rate of 1 metre ph.

    Complex: Plant, Shadow, Light
      Plant: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate plant life. Fi's are capable of complete botanokinesis, where as normal plant aligned hyleifs are only capable of manipulating plants in one minute bursts. All plant hyleifs are capable of communicating with plants through a network and causing flowers to bloom.

      Shadow: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate the shadows. Fi's are capable of complete umbrakinesis, where as normal shadow aligned hyleifs are only capable of manipulating shadows in one minute bursts. All shadows hyleifs are capable of manipulating their own shadow for as long as needed as long as they aren't in direct sunlight.

      Light: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate light. Fi's are capable of complete photokinesis, where as normal shadow aligned hyleifs are only capable of building light constructs the size of their paw. All light hyleifs are capable of creating up to 6 glowing orbs of light that they can change the colour of.

    Rare: Magic [reserved for special occasions, cannot be requested for regular founders/customs]
      Magic: these hyleifs have the ability to manipulate magic. Fi's are capable of manipulating energy, making themselves invisible for 20 minutes and teleporting 50 meters at a time. Normal magic aligned hyleifs are only capable of building magical constructs the size of their paw. All magic hyleifs are capable of summoning ghosts of the damned.

    BEHAVIOUR
      Hyleifs are extremely territorial with a strong sense of family and morality. The stick close to family units and build symphonies, tribes, groups and clans to protect those they care about.

      Hyleifs create songs to tell to future generations and repeating songs is how they remember their history. Music, stories and legacies are a HUGE part of their culture, retelling past triumphs, love affairs and failures vital to their lifestyle.

      Some feathered kips, at a young age grow their wings faster than their muscles and struggle to keep up with others until they grow stronger because their wings slow them down. Some will just start dragging them around instead of carrying them at their side. Any kip that gets sick young has a higher chance of that happening. Most of the time it's just a phase they grow through but occasionally this will lead to earth bound hyleifs in adulthood.

      At five moons old kips learn how to control their magic. Not in a gradual sense either; in an instant flash bang. They have very little control but are usually to occupied with being able to do magic to think about damage control, Hyleifs with fire bending magic all have tales of burning down their colony's camp. Da's wake up and their whole den is just a mess and the kips are screaming, not with fear, with excitement, the more excited they get the more moved they become the more magic they can output, thus the cycle of death begins.

    GENES
      Basic Rundown
      Pelts are semi-realistic and come from cat genes, with the addition of a few extra genes inspired by dogs.
      Tortoiseshells are exclusive to female classes.
      Merle is a dilution modifier.
      Sable are the most recessive agouti.
      Rusting is an additional marking that resembles tan found in dogs but is not agouti.

    00's
      Gryphon mutation: The bird gene that makes the wings possible lacks an inhibitor and a percentage of their fur becomes feathers making a feathered mane that leads down their front legs.
      Rare gene occurrences: chimerism, samae/safae torts, albinism
      Horns: larger than the head or from unique animal species.
      Wings: Missing wings, ornate bird wings, event wings outside of events
      Dual alignment: hyliefs with this mutation have two alignments
      -All 00's are aligned with magic unless otherwise specified

    Every Fifth level you gain an extra Fi slot.
    Example: Level's 5, 10, 15, 20 etc.
