the life of an elven mother, married to a human is not an easy one.

a child stuck between two worlds, human and elf will, perhaps, juggle with her identity for years.

Born of dark hair, Merilel is considered a child of the moon, and thus doesn't sit right with mother's elf father. He arranged the marriage between mother and father, to end a dispute and find a peaceful agreement. The child must be touched by the sun. The elves turn their backs toward the children of the moon; for they only bring bad omens. Mother's elf father finds her firstborn to be a bad omen, ruining his daughter's reputation; a telling sign that they should've ended the skirmish with battle.
