Brightwing has always been seen to have never of had a mate. When brightwing was newly a warrior she met another young warrior from windclan named DuskEye, duskeye and brightwing spent more and more time together. Brightwing eventually became very fond of DuskEye and soon became ‘official mates’ although they could not tell anyone in their clans. With it being so hard for Brightwing and DuskEye to be together they decided it would be best if they stopped their relationship before anything happened.

The mate of Brightwing was a young, charming tabby cat. Always messing with Brightwing, the two soon fell in love because of the tomcat's antics. Because Brightwing tends to be more stoic when leading her clan, she feels embarrassed to have anyone know that deep down, she's just a little kitten. Having her mate be revealed would, in Brightwing's mind, ruin her image.
