Species Lore

From another faraway galaxy, living on a planet that's possibly habitable for life, was the place Varanuses were first born. They ate mostly meat, like a Komodo Dragon. There were other smaller animals not known in that planet. Varanuses were warm blooded furred animals, for unknown reasons. They could be like dinosaurs.

Varanuses had forked tongues, and they had horns, like a fantasy dragon. They dug holes underground in their habitat. They needed oxygen to survive, they can’t survive in space, but with the help with their planet's atmosphere, it helped them to live. A big ball of gas nearby, a star was helping life as well.

The planet was far enough to support enities, and Varanuses. When it gets cold at night, they go into their nests and rest. When it is very hot, Varanuses tend to stay in the shade to avoid getting warmer.

A varanus’s body is like a ferrets, but they do not walk like these species do. They walk differently from these polecat related animals.

Varanuses have great eyesight but poor hearing. They know when their predator is coming by responding to vibrations. When prey is nearby, a varanus hops on to feed on them.

Information

Varanuses lives up to 38 years. When hatchlings are 5 years old they are ready to go out on their own! At the age of 14, they are adults. Varanuses like to be in the cool shades when it is very hot. Whenever it is freezing, they go to a warm spot or in their nests. To stay warm, Varanuses huddle with their colony too!
