Welcome To Kel Valley! wrote:Kel Valley is the name of a particularly verdant coastal mountain range. The main "Kel Valley" is nestled in the middle of a protective ring of mountains, protected from extreme weather, with a very temperate climate. Getting Started! wrote:To start off your adventure, you'll have to get your first team member, and (optionally) their partner! These two Pokemon may be any that you choose, but they may not have uncommon typings, color mutations, or be fusions. They can still have mutations from their common typing, however, and may have up to three accessories each! Once you know what Pokemon you want, visit the customs thread and fill out the appropriate form! You may request to draw your team members yourself, or leave a form to later be picked up by another artist! Kel Valley's artists may even occasionally pick up a Team Start Form, if they so choose, but anyone can take up the responsibility to draw someone else's Pokemon for them.
While your first team members are being made, or perhaps after, you can start making your Team Base! This is a thread, toyhouse folder, page, etc where you will list your Team's Pokemon. They can be coded any way you want, but remember to include your Team Level, a list of your Pokemon, and a section for your inventory/items!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
When your team starts, each member will be level one, and your Team Level will be Bronze. Don't worry, it's easy to level up! Each art piece of your Pokemon awards that Pokemon experience, as well as experience for your Team, including references. Refer to the chart below this section to see how much experience each kind of art awards. Your Pokemon gains 1 level for every 5 exp they earn! Every time they level up, they gain 0-3 points in each stat randomly. A Pokemon's level caps at 100. For every 50 team exp, your team levels up! Each team level has different perks and gifts when leveling up.

Fusion Stone
If you use this when evolving a Pokemon, it will gain a randomized type fusion!
Unstable Shard
If you use this on a Pokemon, it will gain one randomized marking, or a randomized physical mutation from it's already existing type(s). You may choose weather it creates a marking or type mutation.
Customs
Customs are, as they sound, a ticket for a custom team member! To use them, post the correct form on the customs thread. Like with your first team members, you can choose to create these designs yourself, or post a form to have it picked up by another artist.
Art Types Clarification

Halfbody; A picture depicting around 50% of a Pokemon.

Sketched Lines; Messy, scratchy, or otherwise unclean lines.
Clean Lines; Lines that are clear and concise, very little overlapping or messiness.
Messy Color; Color that goes outside the lineart, messily drawn markings/colors, sections uncolored.
Clean Color; Color that is clearly within the lines, with no missing parts or muddled markings.
Simple Shading; Shading that has only one tone; overly soft shading
Complex Shading; Shading that has 2+ clear tones
Simple Background; A shapes of color, patterns.
Intermediate Background; A background with some details, blurred backgrounds
Complex Background; A scene that is fully detailed, a clear back-, middle- and fore-ground.

Mutations? wrote:Mutations are categorized into two lists; physical type mutations, and purely aesthetic color mutations. Color mutations include "shininess" as well as markings. Type mutations cause physical changes in the Pokemon, and differ depending on the type. Pokefusions (fusions of one or more Pokemon) are included in the "Type Mutation" category, though there are so many Pokemon we could never list them all.
When your Pokemon has a marking, remember that the marking has to fit in their common color palette, unless they are also shiny! For example, if you have a Poochyena that is striped, but not shiny, the stripes must fit in the black-silver-grey range, to match the Pokemon's common color palette. However, if you have a shiny Swablu, you can give it, and any markings it has, any colors you'd like!
Type mutations can occur in any Pokemon with that type, even if it is their common typing (i.e. a common Vulpix can exhibit Fire mutations, because it is fire-type already).
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
When breeding two different Pokemon, there is a chance the children will have a type mutation, or even hatch as a fusion of both parents! This is, however, very rare. Usually, a Pokemon is one or the other of its parent's species. A type fusion is when a Pokemon exhibits a type that is not typical of its species; a dark-type Shinx, a flying-type Meowth, etc. They are still the original species, but have an extra type added on, or, in the case of Pokemon that are already dual-typed, replacing their original. Their uncommon typing will persist through evolution, if applicable. A Pokefusion is when a Pokemon exhibits traits from both of its parents equally; i.e. an Eevee/Growlithe Pokefusion might have Eevee's tail, a mix of their mane/hair, Growlithe's large claws, etc.
When breeding any Pokemon, you have a chance that one or more of the children will develop a color, or marking mutation, randomly! The "shiny" mutation is the rarest color mutation, while the others are more common. The parent's species have no effect on this - i.e. just because an Arcanine has stripes in it's design does not mean that it has the "Striped" marking.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
If one or more parents in a breeding have type mutations, they have a chance to pass on their uncommon typing to their children, where applicable. If the child(ren)'s species commonly have the type already, it can't be a mutation! Pokefusions, however, can only slightly bump up the chance that their children will be fusions. They will usually pass from one side or the other, with the chance of a type fusion from the non-passing side.
If one or more parents in a breeding have a marking, they have a chance to pass it onto their children. If one parent has a marking, it has a 50% chance of passing. If both have a marking, it has a 90% chance to pass.
If one or more parents in a breeding are shiny, they have a chance to pass it onto their children. If one parent is shiny, there is a 15% chance to pass. If both are shiny, the chance is bumped up to 30%.
