side/companion species to chrysocyon, small magical fae-like creatures
that enjoy helping others. often found on ranches, they find joy in helping keep the animals clean and happy.

Obtaining A Faewolf wrote:Faewolves are a much looser species than chyros. They are semi-open, meaning that users can easily obtain and create their own, but complete customs are still reserved for special cases (like events!)

Members 1-20 of this species are NPC breeding founders - faewolves owned by the community that serve no purpose other than to create genos for our members to have. Each CS user has one free breeding slot to use each of the founders, and each breeding between two faewolves will result in 3 genos per user in the breeding. This means one user may get up to 30 genos using free breeding slots. Users are limited to breeding 3 pairs a month. You can use these all at once, in one post, or spread throughout the month; It's up to you. User's breeding counts are reset on the first of every month.
(2/20 founders made)

-----------------------------------------------

Once you post the breeding form, I will reply with the genos you've received and their ID numbers. Keep track of that information, as it will be important in verifying your faewolf when you post them! The faewolf's ID number is what number you will post in it's title, as well as how we will refer to your faewolf, since names can be changed on a whim. The faewolf's geno is even more important! It tells you what genes your faewolf has, and how it looks.

After you have received your genos, I will add you to this thread. It is then up to you to design your genos; make sure to closely follow instructions and the genetics guide! Faewolves run off of a mix of cat, dog and horse genetics; don't be afraid to look up references whenever you need them.

-----------------------------------------------

You may breed two faewolves whenever you please; it is the user's responsibility to design their genos, and so we do not run on any sort of "slot opening" system, except in the case that an artist explicitly posts and says they are taking requests to breed your faewolves and/or design genos. You can breed any two posted faewolves that you have permission to use; remember to check lineages, however, as inbreeding can cause infertility in the pups, and even miscarried litters. If a faewolf breeds with any other faewolf that is on it's lineage, the litter will be inbred.

to breed two faewolves, post the form below to the thread!

Code: Select all
username 1: your username
username 2: (if applicable) partners username
faewolf 1: name and/or id number
founder?: (yes/no) (if yes, free or paid breeding slot?) (if two users, who's slot is being used?)
proof: (if using another user's faewolf, link to proof of their consent here)
faewolf 2: name and/or id number
founder?: (yes/no) (if yes, free or paid breeding slot?) (if two users, who's slot is being used?)
proof: (if using another user's faewolf, link to proof of their consent here)

Posting Your Faewolf wrote:Once you have designed your Faewolf, and are ready to post it, there are just a few more steps you have to take before you may begin using them in art, for breeding, and other activities. A few notes to keep in mind, though;

- Faewolves do not have to be (and probably will not be) posted in order. This is why I give you their ID numbers; you should never encounter a numbering error, as long as you keep CLOSE track of what your genos ID numbers are. If you mis-number your faewolf, it could very well be voided, or taken out of the game, so do try to be careful.

- Make sure to link to each faewolf in the lineage correctly, and to list them by ID number, like so:
Parent A: 001
and so on, for each known ancestor.

- Copy geno and phenotypes exactly. Do not change the dominance of any traits when posting, even if it would have no visible effect on your Faewolf. Do not move the marking names in the phenotype; they are set in a specific order.

- Faewolves, like many Arkylian species, are true intersex animals, meaning any two can breed viably, as long as neither parent is infertile. It also means they can identify however they like, and that gender is not listed on their reference sheet.

- The title of your Faewolf's oekaki page must be written like so; please do not change the format, I'd like it to be standardized.
Code: Select all
faewolf 000 // NAME

When you are ready to post your Faewolf, fill out this form in their first post. Please do not change the format. Remember to edit in any known ancestors of your Faewolf. This will be, at the least, two founders. At the most, the whole lineage (two parents, four grandparents, and eight great-grandparents) will be filled out. Any ancestry past the great grand parents does not need to be logged.
